To me if your trying to developing a young guy you throw him into the fire. Your right I wouldn't never use Aminu at center I would have brought in Collins and didn't do that I brought in Swanigan due to that he is very good rebounder. But either our assistant coaches don't give Stotts there opinion on those situation or they do and he blow them off.

It's not just who's picking things up quicker, it's how do these guys stack up against each other in practice too. Maybe Collins hasn't shown enough yet from a simple competitive standpoint?

My guess, is that he'll get his chance when inevitable injuries knock people out for little while, and if he looks so good in practice that they can't justify keeping in street-clothes he'll get his opportunities that way too.

I knew this would happen and we are only five games in. Everybody gets SO hyped on rookies and think they will help out SO much during the regular season based on what they see in summer and preseason. It just doesn't happen like that. Coaches are about winning NOW and will do whatever they can to. I have been pleasantly surprised at how Swannigan has been playing. Nothing huge, but some scrap and hustle here and there. I just don't expect to get much out of em and when we do, it's a bonus.

What I seen in preseason games that Collins look pretty good and he shot the ball well. No one knows how he looks in practice and I believe when Vonleh comes back you just might see Swanigan sitting by Collins. This his how Stotts coaches. Now Dame and believe Batum was different but the rest of our rookies they didn't see the rotation until late in the 2nd or 3rd year.

    Another Olshey's disaster.

How in the world do you select Zach Collins over Malik Monk when you're about to unload Crabbe's contract?

Zach Collins in my opinion has a pretty clear ceiling: Cody Zeller.

And let me be clear, it's not even easy to match Cody's value since he has made big strides in the last 2 years.

And even if Collins reach that value, how does that change the big picture? Add Cody Zeller to this team and you're still first round material.

I hate Neil Olshey, give me a GM who gives the right to dream to his fans, give me a Presti, give me a Buford, not a soap opera man who knows that fans here are pleased with mediocrity and takes advantage of this.

Kid, you're getting annoying as fuck.

THE KID IS 19 YEARS OLD. HE'S BEEN IN THE LEAGUE FOR 6 GAMES.

For fucks sake, based off the same stupid logic, CJ has the same ceiling as Jodie Meeks.

Collins is nothing like Zeller. Way to compare players based off skin color.

Presti lucked into PG, and that helped him luck into Melo. And we're STILL better than them at the moment! He got rid of Harden for nothing, and drove Durant out of town.

You're ignorance is so cringe-worthy. Quit posting until you have something positive to say. Got it?

While Collins is having a non existent season so far, he's also only played 15 minutes.
So to compare him to another player, you probably should based it on a player who is doing significantly better.
But you brought up Malik Monk. Who is shooting 31% from the floor. Has a PER of 4.6. With the offensive rating of 80 and a defensive of 103.

Did you just look at a player drafted after him and went with it?

It's comments like this that make us realize you're not actually serious about what you're posting. I have serious doubts you're even a Blazers fan. Most likely, at best, you're probably a fan of some other team and came here a while ago trying to troll, forgot about it and then came back because you're incredibly bored.

    Honest question for you.

Did you watch Collins play at Gonzaga or are you just basing your opinion on the few games you've seen since he's been drafted?

Zach needs court time, he needs the G-League.

He did in the NCAA tournament, and played well enough to make the All-Tournament team.

But damn, we could have used the 10th pick in the draft on the next Allen Crabbe. I guess some posters haven't noticed that Crabbe's production has been easily replaced by a guy we already had on the roster who makes 8% as much money (as some of us predicted).

Our biggest weaknesses for the last two seasons was at power forward and back up center. Olshey addressed both of those needs long term by drafting Collins and Swanigan. But gee, six games into the rookie season of those two and some asshat troll is calling for Olshey's head because he didn't draft a Crabbe replacement.

I'd say learn the game, then post. But in this case, I think - learn something, anything, then post - would be more appropriate.

I agree to a point, we needed size. However, I don't think moving 15+20 for Collins was the right move. I hope I end up being wrong though.

Do you think moving from 15 + 20 to draft Malik Monk would have been the right move? That's the OP's stance, that Olshey could have drafted a Crabbe replacement in Monk at 10, did not, and therefore, sucks balls and should be fired.

Those 0/1 averages would be great in the starting line up.

you missed the Raymond Felton era I'm guessing...the Luke Babbitt chalupa craze.....if you've actually ever been a fan since the beginning....we're ahead of the curve....you should find that team that floats your boat and cheer for them...maybe...just maybe...you're Kevin Pritchard
