Steve Blake to Chris Kaman connection gives Trail Blazers bench a boost http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...man_connection.html?utm_source=RipCityTwo.com
What? Mike Barrett wrote an article gushing over Steve Blake? The hell you say..... Blake gets more mention per minute than LeBron James from Barrett. Almost anything he does well is mentioned, pointed out, praised, lauded and gushed over while things he does poorly are excused or completely ignored. We watch from home and laugh about how much the 'homer factor' goes up with Barrett the minute Blake enters the game. Blake does some good things and has his weaknesses but if you didn't know better and were just tuning in, you'd think Blake was the star by how often he gets raved about. That is some serious Man-crushing from Barrett. Good times.
Regardless of how "average" you think Blake is, I felt the article was great. It shows a side of NBA players that most don't know about. Also, he may only be "good" in some areas, as you mentioned; but the dude is fearless, has heart, and doesn't fuck up like most our previous PGs we had in the past
I have nothing against Steve Blake. My comment was much more about how Barrett continually gushes about everything he does compared to anyone else on the team doing similar things. Blake is fearless and I like the toughness he brings. But the endless raving by Barrett is beyond objective, that's all.
Barrett romanticizes Blake's willingness to get into fistfights, then his religiosity. Has Barrett ever been in a real torture fight or is he just all war media propaganda?
Having finally made jlprk's fav's of the week I feel like I've finally arrived! It was the caveman sweat that put me over the top! MB's only war was with a clerk over the price of a paintball gun.
I liked both articles a lot. If MB really wanted to go mancrushy on Blake, he would have brought up the Kobe quote - he didn't.
