Oy. Have you heard 1080's new local programming that took Dan Patrick's time slot? Travis & Wilcox? Travis Demers (who left 1080 for XM but is now back) and Josh Wilcox (former Duck TE that is "wild" and/or "crazy!") Travis has a future in this business, he's a pro. Wilcox is absolutely unprepared and has no talent for radio. I hope Travis didn't move back to Portland from D.C. just for this show because it will go down in flames. Get someone opposite of Travis that can actually speak to any level of sports whatsoever and the show could be good. I think it's pretty obvious Travis is already frustrated with Wilcox and this is only their second week on air. Bring back Dan Patrick. I don't care that it was previously recorded.
Given the choice between these guys and Brian Berger, I'll listed to Travis & Wilcox every day. If you want to hear Dan Patrick, listen to him on your phone (as I do).
Agree! I used to be a big 750 fan/listener. Now I only listen if its Courtside or a Blazer game. I now listen to 1080 on my way to and from work, and stream DP (live) and Rome during work... and now Travis & Wilcox. Travis is good, Wilcox not so much. He's like a poor man's Big Suke. I wouldnt be surprised if they find a new host to pair with Travis in a few months. They should put the guy that produce's Primetime on with Travis.
I tuned in to the Travis and Wilcox show today and it was painful to listen to. Travis is good, Wilcox is in way over his head. He constantly interrupts Demers to disagree with him and Wilcox clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. I can't believe they got rid of the Dan Patrick Show to make room for this boring nonsense.
I dont listen to the game much anymore. Not just because the season is over. Once it went to FM, I really stopped listening. On my way into work, i listen to my flash drive. fuck radio. thats so 1990's.
I think Patrick is moving to 750...he is part of Fox Sports. 1080 had him before he became a part so they just finished out the contract.
The issue with DP was that he was tape delayed on 1080 which sucked. I'd love to have DP live on 750 during his actual time slot. Brewski nailed it though, Wilcox is a poor man Suke. And extremely poor man Suke. I love me some Suke. Primetime is easily my favorite sports radio show, local or national.
Wilcox is not a poor mans Suke...Suke has talent but Wilcox is a complete dud. That radio show is the worse I have ever heard, it is a disgrace that 1080 The Fan would put on a guy like Wilcox that can't even talk properly, is never prepared, and his little to no knowledge of what he talks about. Whoever decided to give those two bafoons a radio show should be fired. The Primetime show with Isaac and Suke could EASILY be a GREAT national radio show. The Travis and Wilcox show is the worse show I have ever heard on the radio, and most of that is because of Wilcox....who is plain AWFUL.
I went to basketball camp with Josh Wilcox in middle school at the University of Portland. I remember him because his dad is a HoF football player (a future one at the time). Hanging out with him was the highlight of that camp, along with me winning the camp-wide slam dunk contest. OK, it was on 8 foot rims, but I was still pretty proud of myself Ed O.
I only played varsity my junior and senior years. Low-to-mid double digits, I think. I was the second- or third-best player on our team... we were pretty good (winning state at our level my senior year, coming in third the year before) but I wasn't anything special Ed O.
We were a small school, yes. I can't remember if we were A or AA--we changed levels when I was in high school and I think that the ranking system has changed since then. I think the high school is 3A now. Edit: we were 2A. We'd come down from AA (which became 3A) a couple of years before. Ed O.
