Re: UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman (Jul/6) I love Silva, but I really want to see Weidman pull off the upset.
Re: UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman (Jul/6) I am really really pulling for Weidman in this fight. I just love the kid's determination.
Re: UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman (Jul/6) Ticket sales have been slow for this event (the UFC came out and argued otherwise, suggesting it's true). Despite the UFC's best efforts to sell Chris Weidman, the issue is that Anderson Silva still isn't much of a draw stateside. Edgar facing a middling featherweight he should easily handle isn't helping either. The card looks good but Vegas is spoiled.

Anderson Silva's six-year reign comes to a regrettable end [gifs of knockout] In a remarkable display of poor strategy longtime UFC Middleweight Champion of the World Anderson Silva attempted to pay games with latest challenger Chris Weidman, bobbing and weaving with his hands down as Weidman threw punches. Silva allowed Weidman to square up with him and attempted to lean-back Matrix style and avoid Weidman's attack. Weidman clipped Silva with a left hook and finished him on the ground to capture the title and end Silva's 17-fight winning streak and nearly six-year run as champion.
Re: Anderson Silva caught clowning, knocked out, dethroned by Chris Weidman [gif] This is one of the biggest moments in MMA history right here.
I don't know if Anderson Silva just doesn't speak English well enough or if he meant what he said but he claims to be "done fighting for the belt". He also claims to have ten more fights on his contract.
I think Anderson was trying to goad Weidman into a standup war after Weidman took him down and controlled him for a bit. He didn't want a repeat of the first four rounds against Sonnen. Just went too far with it...
Kennedy vs. Gracie notwithstanding, lots of nice fights tonight. Don't blame Kennedy at all for the way that fight played out. Gracie has no hands and no cardio.
Doubt silva cared that he even lost. Didnt seem like he took the fight very serious at all. He had weidman figured out late first round and the start of second. He should of just been a little more careful. Silva could of easily won this fight if he took it more seriously. Weidman got lucky.
