Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves don't appear to have much left in the tank. Golden State's Charles Jenkins is just getting warmed up. David Lee had 31 points and eight rebounds, and Jenkins scored seven of Golden State's final nine points to help the Warriors rally from a 20-point deficit to top the reeling Timberwolves 97-94 on Wednesday night.
I wish the warriors would stop doing this. Stop winning when it doesn't matter because you're not making the playoffs! Start losing because it matters that we keep our pick!
The trick is to trade for some lousy team's pick and root for them to lose/tank while you try to win. It's a better atmosphere that breeds further winning. No?
I actually heard Mullin mention (on KHTK) that the Warriors may be able to swap this year's pick for next years and some cash because the Jazz are already young enough. That may be what Lacob was talking about. Obviously, if they got lucky and jumped into the top 3 picks, it would be a moot point, but don't be surprised if we end up holding on to the pick either way.
The warriors are pitiful for a bay area pro sports team when it comes to free agency. We should be a big market player, but the warriors are too sad to play for. So we need picks to build from. And hopefully, just hopefully, we land an impact guy in the draft that attracts free agents. The warriors also have to stop getting injured. I don't think this is a terrible team, just a mediocre team and absolutely dreadful when missing its best small and big player. No team can really do much when that happens. The franchise really sucks though. The owners ought to do an overhaul of front office personel. Clear the house of all the guys who are absolutely terrible decison-makers when it comes to the short term and long term plan.
