Now that Vince Young has declared his eligibility for the 2006 NFL Draft what should the Texans do? Here are some of there options: 1. draft Vince Young 2. draft Reggie Bush 3. draft someone else 4. trade down
THeir best option is to draft Reggie Bush, but they can always trade down and upgrade their linemen like in the second and third round.
I really think they should trade Down to the #5 or #6 and get D'brickshaw Fergueson. Thats what they truly need, reggie bush wont be able to stop Carr getting sacked 8 times a game so get someone who can. A QB is out of the queston, they just picked up david carrs extension, so they wont draft a 1st round QB, maybe draft a backup QB in round 4 or 5

The only way i seem them getting Bush is if they get a good free agent LT. That is there most glaring need. The texans already have Domanick Davis playing, so they dont need a running back.
David Carr isn't a bad QB, his O-Line is and David Carr is a first overall right? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'>They should trade down. Reggie Bush doesn't help them at all.</div> Thats absurd!
I would go so far as to say that Reggie Bush doesn't help them - if nothing else it gives the fans something to watch besides Carr laying on his back. I do think they should trade down, but they can't. Houston fans are wanting Bush and they probably will draft him.
Houston fans want Vince Young. Bush could be booed when he's picked but maybe the Rose Bowl hype will have died down in Texas buy the.. That's all I'm hearing from Houston fans is Vince Young.. Bush does help them in many ways. He gives them a playmaker on offense.. You can hand the ball off to him 15 times. Throw to him 5 or 6 and put him on kick and punt return. Davis can carry the load in between the tackles.. It's a great 1-2 punch. Ferguson would be a huge upgrade at tackle but they can't build a line around rookies this year. They should seriously take a run at a big named lineman and get him signed. Someone like a Steve Hutchinston if he's not tagged.
Listening to what the Houston fans want is precisely what will screw the franchise. That team needs a LOT of help. The GM needs to flip the fans the bird, trade down, and build the team from the Offensive Line on up. Signing a QB or a RB that early in the draft is always a "break the bank" proposition when it comes to money. With Domanick Davis and David Carr already sitting on monster contracts, they're looking at salary cap hell if they don't trade down.
Here are the needs of the Texans 1. LT 2. MLB 3. DE 4. any other offensive lineman 5. TE 6. OLB 7. RB So they have a lot more needs than a running back, if they dont get a LT like Fergueson, they need to draft a guy like AJ Hawk who can stop that defense from getting run over 7. SS
I think that they will pick at the #1 spot, because the Teaxans can move up in the draft with the picks they got 1st pick overall, 1st pick in the 2nd round, and 1st and 2nd pick in the 3rd round. They could trade there 2nd round pick and/or one or both of there 3rd round picks and still get another 1st round pick.
The Texans are so bad that it's so easy to improve the team so even if they don't try very hard to improve the team, they'll still go 5-11 at least next year. If they do try very hard (which they are), they will be 7-9 to 9-7 next year. They will not make the playoffs until at least 2007 and if they do get there in 2007, it'll be because they have an easy schedule and every team in their division isn't that good. Now, I see some of you think that the Texans should draft a person that improves their worst position on the team but they are so bad that they need the best football player in the nation that isn't a pro yet.
I believe that the Texans have a whole lot of potential to be good next year. A lot better than last years worst team the 49ers. The Texans have a good QB, a great RB and WR. They have two good corners. All they need is some protection for Carr and this could be a good offense. With the right coach this team could go 7-9 next year.
