Aside from Dallas, Detroit, New York, or New Jersey fans, why do you feel the need to hate on Tim Duncan? I've been wondering this for a while, there's alot of people on here (that I've noticed) and other forums that dislike Tim Duncan, and I've never seen a valid reason of why besides of the fact that he is/was a rival of a team, or won an NBA Finals against them.'Just looking for some thoughts! :happy0144:
The Big Fundamental is sweet. But that is exactly why some people don't like him, because he's too "boring". Well I say pfft to those who think he's boring.

Old-School basketball being played at it's best, and Tim Duncan is out there on the court "looking" like he actually integrated it. It just makes me sit and think in ahh on how so many people dislike Tim Duncan. It's crazy.

I don't hate him. EDIT: Although, I don't think he deserved MVP in the 2002-2003 season. It should have gone to Jason Kidd that year.

At first glance, I thought Tim Duncan was one of the unhateable players in the NBA.. He is just a player who only cares about winning and plays his heart out. What is there to hate about? The only thing people would criticize him for is his uninterested game but that would be a really miserable excuse to pull out.
Yeah, I thought Tim Duncan was one of those guys who is only hated by his rivals Even as a Lakers fan I can't say I hate the guy. He plays defense. He's efficient. He doesn't whine (most of the time). He'll give props to his opponents. I'm curious as to who you're talking about when you say his haters.
More than most, I've seen more of the critics of Tim Duncan coming from mostly Suns fans. I'm not very surprised hearing from them saying that though, from all of full court offense the-whole-length type of team's fans hating on a player that plays on a half court-style-based offense on the Spurs. I've just been looking for more valid answers from the haters of Duncan, other than "he's boring," because that's not slicing the dice.
Some people just love to hate on Winners! That is why Mavs fans hate him and D-Wade. Both players are good for the NBA but they just hate them both cause they win.
Like everyone in here has said, he's just boring. He does everything fundamentally to perfection, and puts you to sleep. He's not vocal, not animated, and everyone is just sick of San Antonio. As a Detroit fan, I didn't even resent him. I can't say I liked him beating us, but he's a quality dude.He was hella fun to watch at Wake Forest, though.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (LAZY @ Jan 10 2007, 10:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>He's just a boring player in general. Bank shot after bank shot</div>Not to mention Championship after championship, Award after award, and playoffs every year. Youre right, winning is boring. C'mon, Timmy is one of the top 3 PF's, if not the best PF to play in the NBA, please give him some credit.
I dont think anyone in their right mind doesn't want to give him credit. Everyone knows dude is a great player. Nobody has taken his game into question.
If being a boring player means winning two MVP awards and 3 NBA titles then sign me up. I don't see how you can hate the guy. Tim Duncan is arguably the best power forward in NBA history, he's a classy guy who never runs into off court problems, he's a proven winner. You can call him boring but I doubt anybody on this site wouldn't want Tim Duncan on their favorite team. It's a shame that he's such an amazing player and he doesn't get credit for it.
I admit he is the most boring superstar in the NBA. However, he plays fundamentals, and that is why I love him.edit- I know what you mean tho, it seems like he gets so disrespected sometimes.. or the right word is underrated.. not enough credit.. by fans.
Credit for it? Again, nobody has questioned his ability. I thik if you asked anyone who the top 3 guys in the L are, Tim Duncan is on that list.
I don't "hate" him, but I do dislike the fact that he whines about nearly every call that he doesn't get. There's nothing wrong with his game, and I couldn't care less about him being boring. I only have to watch him ten times a year, usually.
