RHP - Nathan Eovaldi (0-0 4.35 ERA) VS. LHP - Kyle Lobstein (1-0 5.40 ERA) Tonight's lineup........ CF - Ellsbury LF - Gardner DH - Rodriquez 1B - Teixeira C - McCann RF - Young 3B - Headley 2B - Drew SS - Petit
Had to go to the almanac, Lobstein threw a good game against the Yankees last season, taken out after 6 did not get the win Yankees ended up losing the game. Bitterly pissed the offense failed the Big Mans game last night. Just painful watching this group in lack of action.
Their output matches managements input, both = nil. Watching the same/different players doing the same monotonous things at bat and in the field. Believe it or not, I'm a die hard Yankee fan who has become very disenchanted with the Yankees developmental program and watch this team in the stuck mode. If this is what a moratorium is............I say bury it and start fresh.
...yup, being a fan allows for criticism. No, it does not alter the facts, but neither does blindly accepting and embracing them.
First thing needed is for the Steinbrenners to sell the team or find excellent administration to run it. This also means that Cashman and other brass are kicked out of the franchise. The damn Yankees can outbid for players why not outbid for real baseball people. The next move is how to attrition the high price duds out in the most expeditious and economical manner. I know, easier said than done. Then revert to an improved farm for young hungry players and spend well for talented hungry free agents. The catch here is all who come on board are interested into restoring this franchise into one of whom the fans are proud to follow because they will play weel and compete. That is a big damn totem pole to climb but it has to be done.
Well the life span of a man today is around 76 so I have to believe that I'll see another title over the next 30 years.
World Series wins can't be predicted but because of resources alone they will win again. They just need people smart enough not to saddle the team with these absurd long term deals that are killers on the back end. Plus, you need some luck with a couple of these prospects panning out.
You have to figure that once the team rids themselves of the big contracts, (A-Riod, Tex, CC & Beltran) that good things will happen........I'm hoping.
