Big men almost always struggle offensively for the first 3 years. Defensively he’s already good, I’m extremely happy especially considering how young he is, you can see offensively it’s there just rushing a little and being pushed around. By the way his footwork is damn good which to me is...
Even hotter and maybe dumb take, some of Simons game reminds m of Kobe. He’s just smooth out there for a 19 year old. Again not saying he’s Kobe so don’t kill me to bad
Only concern I have is his lateral quickness on defense. Seen several times where he’s almost fallen over trying to move laterally. But love what I’m seeing from the rest of his game. Confidence seems to be a problem with him and the coach believing in him
The NBA is talking about lifting the minimum age restriction and allowing high school kids in the 2021 draft. If that’s the case whatever year they allow this you’ll have a full draft of college and high school kids available. If possible be nice to pick up another 1st rounder in that draft
Personally I think it had more to do with opening up playing time for the younger players. No way was Stotts going to play the younger bigs over Ed except Collins. This forces coach to play them and hopefully ups there value
I would argue we wouldn’t really need to go full rebuild mode. If you want to build around Nurk and Collins they are young enough that if you traded Lillard and C.J. for multiple first rounders you could potentially rebuild faster. I’m not saying I would but if you don’t feel you have chance to...
My theory why we didn’t sign Ed Davis. Obviously Zach Collins was going to play regardless of whether Davis was here or not. I think this move had more to do with Meyers playing time. They have to get him some playing time either he develops or creates at least some type of trade value this year
