I'm not happy about it unless Dame is coming back as more of a mentor than player. I liked the idea of a roster with no weak links on defense and that just won't be the case with him in the rotation. I also don't want to go back to a slow pace that is last in the league in fast breaks and assists.

Ya I saw a Wizards fan say he averaged 19/9/4 as their best defender the 2nd half of last year. That is impressive for his age and worth gambling on. His contract is so good I think it's a good bet we'd be able to move him for more than we paid to get him in a season or two.

That contract and the fact that he's still rapidly improving is a great value. He's only a couple months older than Dalton Knecht. I actually like it.

What you're saying might make sense if Jaime Jaquez Jr looked like the best player in this draft. He doesn't tho... Victor and Miller both look much better and look to have much higher upside. Or in 2022... the top 4 were Banchero, Chet, Smith Jr. and Keegan Murray. Who are the later picks that...

They better be traded this summer and not for some borderline all-star. If the franchise is serious about contending we need a player with top 5 in the league potential. Either Shaedon or Scoot have to pop and show that or we have to keep shedding talent to stay at the bottom of the league.
