Why wouldn't Barclay's recommit - everyone is lying through their teeth right now, why not Barclays. You are talking about a project that has been delayed for years - now they expect us to believe that in the worst economy since the Great Depression that they can come up with all this funding...
I heard it - full spin interview - blah blah blah Brooklyn. Anti-Newark but loves the crappy Izod Arena - what a joke. Only interesting thing was when Carlin side swiped him with a rumor that Yormak is leaving the Nets since the arena is a pipe dream....that was interesting!
I think now is the time to strike - all these teams dumping to egt under the cap for 2010 - With Brooklyn a real question mark I really dont want to sacrafice 2 years only to end up with nothing. The team is much better than I thought - maybe Thorn can make a deal now and bring in a big time...
There may not be an entity per se but there are more than enough repots circulating that Newark has had talks with Ratner on the Nets.....you'd be foolish to think a play will not be made from Newark regardless of who initiates. That arena is screaming for an NBA team.
It begins.......he still is holding out this Brooklyn arena nonsense which will die next year - if the Newark arena group coms in strong this could happen next year....
I think when Brooklyn dies Newark will come full force - the key will be what kind of real estate deal can they offer the Rat. He really does not care about the team or arena - the team is a means to an end for his bread and butter which is real estate,
Izod knows it is done if the Nets...
Spoke to my team contact yesterday and was told that that the Nets will NEVER act like Newark is a viable option. That would spook the funding and Barclays which they cant afford right now. So obviously with any idiot seeing that Brooklyn is a hail mary right now - this Izod story comes out...
Ratner would never ever say anything except his standard garbage about how Brooklyn is a foregone conclusion and will create jobs...blah blah. He has to say that or he will lose Barclays.
The Star Ledger - based in Newark - a few weeks back (sorry no link) said that there were already...
I dont think the NBA has no say whatsoever in what an owner does with his franchise. Ratner is all about using the team for a sweetheart real estate deal - no other city is going to not only pay him top dollar but give him a hundred million dollar sweetheart real estate deal. I think they'll be...
do yourself a favor and check it out - it is like a police state with security - way safer than Yankee stadium. Short walk to the train - lots of parking. Good restaurants and bars in walking distance.
The only reason why they are not there right now even if they are still moving to...
I disagree - there is a beautiful arena in Newark that is state of he art and easy to get to - the NEts would draw huge is they were in Newark. Also Newark is willing to give the Rat some sweetheart land deals to entice him to come that othr venues will not - I predict the Nets will be in...
