Oh no, it's Cessa time. Don't know what the Yanks see in this guy.
Whenever the staff talks about him they say we like his arm, as if he's the only pitcher who throws 95 with a half ass breaking ball.
4.67 career ERA with a 1.31 WHIP.
In a close game, I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him.
Gardner leading off? Why? Because he may be the fastest runner on the team?
I wouldn't let him near the leadoff spot.
He's an eighth place hitter if I ever saw one. A strikeout machine.
His last 6 full seasons (2012 injured) he's been a .258 hitter averaging 122 Ks per yr with an OPS of .739...
Good win for Yanks, real good. This guarantees TB will finish this 4 game series no better than they began it, 6 games back with a chance of losing two games in the standings and leave town 8 games behind with a Yankee win in the 4th game.
Good win, nice going Yanks
German did the job. Good news for him and Yanks.
He toughened up after giving up 2 runs in 1st inning with 5 shutout inn.
6 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 5 K, ERA now 3.38,
Well done Domingo! Well done
I think it's safe to say he's currently at least one of the most underrated SP in the league...
Yea, another big two out RBI from Gio.
Yanks quietly have 4 or 5 guys who hit well w/risp.
I know its July but that's the stuff that wins in the postseason.
Yanks lack of hitting w/risp has been their down fall since the Championship seasons including last year's ALDS vs Boston. They lost a...
Sanchez struggling w/risp.
Agree on German, he could acquit himself very nicely if he can settle down with a few good innings.
I think this particular game vs a good 2nd place team after a rough first inning is a good true test for German.
Actually I believe this could be a big step in his...
Sure enough, 2nd inning and Gardy didn't like the called 3rd strike and smashed his bat in the dugout and Boone was ejected for jawing at the HP rookie ump. I believe the horrible call to Judge in the 1st also contributed to this outburst from Boone.
MLB just has to go with the automated strike...
The 1-1 pitch to Judge called a strike wasn't just low, it was very low.
Turned the whole AB around instead of the count being 2-1 it became 1-2.
A perfect example of why MLB should go with the electronic strike zone whether Joe West likes it or not.
Is this an excuse if the Yanks lose?.. OF...
Oops, two hanging curveballs- 2-0 TB, lets see if German can gut it out, hang in there and give us a few innings and give the team a fighting chance to WIN the game.
Part of the maturing process. Obviously a step backwards if he gets bombed.
