For me it breaks down like this:
Having Ant means no Holiday... I think Holiday will contribute more to wins than Ant, so NO. I think Holiday's impact will be ~ +3 games
Ayton may have allowed Blazers to win 2-3 more games than we will without him.
The net impact of not having those two is...
This team isn't very deep.
We have 8 good NBA players.
3 on the IR (Dame, Rob, Thybulle)
And 2 who should not be on a NBA roster (Rupert & Reath)
2 who should be 14/15 type bench players that should NOT be getting minutes... but they will (Murray & Wesley) [Im still trying to decide if...
Translation: Cherngs bought RAJ off to drop the suit. I wonder how expensive it was for them...
I guess an alternative option is RAJ figured out that they had no case...
Either way, good news that there's more clarity on the path forward.
Yeah - you're wrong here.
A 5-year deal would be 5 additional years (so 6 total). Sharpe would be under contract until June '31
Just look at Jabari Smith's deal as a template

I think it really depends on what type and how much conversation Cherngs had with Dundon prior to that August 13th announcement.
That was when Dundon's offer was accepted & his Due Diligence period began.
After that 8/13 date, there was no practical way RAJ was going to get the team unless...
There's no 'exemption' available for Dame's roster spot.
Teams can only carry a maximum of 15 players on the team regardless of the situation.
There is an injury exception, but it is only for salary cap considerations (think of a extra tMLE). It has no bearing on roster spots.
Regardless...
That was my first thought too.
I think Holiday would be perfect for that team.
The issue I see is just how to balance the trade contract wise and value wise.
*** EDIT ***
What about Holiday + Rupert for FVV + Sheppard?
I highly doubt that is correct.
That would be unbelievably fast to close a deal this size that quickly.
My guess is that the end of the season got mixed up with end of the year (ie like the end if a school year...).
I'd really like to give him an opportunity.
Given the proximity to the tax line and a full-roster, he would need to agree to a 2-way contract. If so, sign him up.
