    Bust a Scoot?

I always found it a bit prematurely optimistic to anoint Scoot before he even played. That's why the Dame for Scoot pivot didn't excite me. He was unknown. My fear was always centered on the downside of rolling the dice. I'm not stoked with what we've seen so far, but at this point, what is...

    Bronny had cardiac arrest

My buddy died at 21-22 in his sleep because of a completely unknown heart defect that caused it to take too long between beats (long QT syndrome). Heart stuff is scary. I'd definitely have a hard time with my son playing ball after something like this. Especially if he was financially set.

    Joe Cronin vs. Dame Dolla

Kinda seems like he's going through it. (Which of course has been speculated already). I'm wishing him the best as a fellow human. I've been there (just without the fame, the talent, the money, the perks, etc)

Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

That's the part that feels really gross. There's no way to spin that other than "we value the post-Dame era more than Dame at this point". Whether it's the right decision or not depends on who you ask. But drafting a PG at #3 was clearly the end of Dame being here. Even taking somebody at...

Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

I understand defending Dame as far as who is more responsible for the situation. But we don't know how hard Cronin shopped #3+Ant. Maybe he did push to move them but other GMs knew that Dame was one foot out the door. What we do know is that Dame has had a very public ultimatum for a long time...

Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

That's definitely been my impression. He could have been lying this whole time, but this really feels like he feels betrayed by the organization in some way. Who knows, though. 99% of what's factoring into this for Dame is stuff we'll never know about. Personal life, private conversations...

    An Epiphany: Dame should reconsider

As I mentioned in the trade thread, I get the impression Dame is pissed at Cronin. I don't think it's simply about running out of patience anymore. I think he feels straight up betrayed leading up to the draft. Rightfully so. I don't see him reversing course.

Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

I wonder if we're going to get any additional bits of information from "sources" in the coming days/weeks that paint Cronin/the FO in a negative light. Some parts of this whole thing have given me the feeling that Dame is maybe actually pissed and not just "ready to move on."

Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

Oh to have a transcript of that call. It's not a great look if a conversation with the head coach is what pushes your "on the fence" star to demand out the next morning.

Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

100% Dame was done dirty in spite of sticking with Portland for so long. I blame this whole situation on the FO. But for some of us, it's hard to take his words at quite the same seriousness if he's truly demanding a trade to the eastern conference champs. If that's the case, it sounds like...

Joe: I’ll do what’s best for the team

It's weird to think what the Paul Allen alternate timeline might have looked like. There's so many questions about motives and investment and future plans at the very top right now. I wouldn't doubt the intentionality of it at all.

Joe: I’ll do what’s best for the team

We hit the big time lottery by drafting Dame. If we couldn't do the necessary follow-up to build around him and keep him bought in, heaven help us if we somehow luck into Scoot and Sharpe being amazing but we end up just a piece or two away after their value goes up. "Small markets win via...

Joe: I’ll do what’s best for the team

Oops. I think Cronin has yet to prove he's capable of anything beyond making the right picks at 7 and 3. This is his chance to give us reason to buy into his plan.

Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

God... Too bad Stephen A wasn't part of the layoffs if this comes to pass

Dame asks for trade (And there it is)

I'm looking forward to not stressing out about overanalyzed cryptic Dame tweets and wondering if he's still committed to staying on the team. That's been hell in recent years. #silverlining
