My buddy died at 21-22 in his sleep because of a completely unknown heart defect that caused it to take too long between beats (long QT syndrome). Heart stuff is scary. I'd definitely have a hard time with my son playing ball after something like this. Especially if he was financially set.

I understand defending Dame as far as who is more responsible for the situation. But we don't know how hard Cronin shopped #3+Ant. Maybe he did push to move them but other GMs knew that Dame was one foot out the door. What we do know is that Dame has had a very public ultimatum for a long time...

As I mentioned in the trade thread, I get the impression Dame is pissed at Cronin. I don't think it's simply about running out of patience anymore. I think he feels straight up betrayed leading up to the draft. Rightfully so. I don't see him reversing course.

I wonder if we're going to get any additional bits of information from "sources" in the coming days/weeks that paint Cronin/the FO in a negative light. Some parts of this whole thing have given me the feeling that Dame is maybe actually pissed and not just "ready to move on."

Oh to have a transcript of that call. It's not a great look if a conversation with the head coach is what pushes your "on the fence" star to demand out the next morning.
