Speak for yourself...
I loved Eason in the draft & wanted to find a way to get him.
I didn't (and still don't) see the love for Smith. He's a decent rotation player, but will never be a difference maker. He's essentially Jerami Grant V2.
Not nearly as much as you would think...
On the example given, there was ~$30k savings due to income tax.
Vancouver's sales tax is 8.8%. So a little math to figure out the break even point: $30k/8.8% => $340k. A couple would need to spend over $340k on taxable stuff to pay the same...
Okay - here's my thoughts:
Trade #1 with OKC
OKC- 2026 1st (worst available, likely Houston ~#25)
for
POR- 2029 1st (worst BOS, MIL, POR)
OKC has 2-3 picks this summer and basically a full roster. They kick the can down the road a few years when the asset can be used better.

We're 6 weeks away from the NBA Trade deadline (FEB 5th).
Post your ideal trade deadline ideas. Hopefully someone from Cronin's team will see this and elevate the good/realistic ideas to evaluate them in depth.
