You have to look at Menk's intangibles. He is one of the all-time ugliest players in the NBA. With him and Kurt Thomas on the front line, they will be formidably ugly. They should trade Marbury for Cassell or Van Excel to complete the lineup.

This is a shock! I though New Jersey couldn't hit anything last year, only Harris and Kittles looked like guys that could stretch the D and allow Kidd to penetrate. Now they are both gone and the Nets got nothing back?! He will be picked up by someone, bet the Rockets have already called.

Since Houston is probably the most overpaid player in the NBA, and the Knicks could actually get something back for him, it's an easy call. Trading Houston would be like trading Grant Hill, normally you'd have to take a bunch of crap back just to get someone to take his contract.

I've been critical of Zeke, but if he can get Rahim for Houston and his huge bag, it would be great! Kurt Thomas wouldn't work unless more parts were thrown in, and I can't imagine why Portland would want him there. Tim Thomas is more equivalent salary wise.

Kidd is still the best. In the open court, he's awesome. He's starting to show his age a bit. Since he doesn't have a very good jump shot, people back off him and force him to shoot. You'd have to rank the Nets among the teams that are sinking. I don't like their mix very much at this point, but some teams can turn it around in a year or two with the right moves. Look at Denver now.
