Stanton and the Marlins are talking these numbers...according to reports.

Someone seriously needs to draw a line in the sand.

Holy smokes the Marlins breaking out the check book. That's got to be a 1st, since their last Series Win, followed by that Huge Fire Sale.

Wonder how much Jose Fernandez will get when its His turn. But then lets hope Jose recovers well from TJ surgery, and returns to form...!

Kershaw and Trout might....might be worth that much.

Just read in this mornings paper that the deal for the 25 year old currently sits at 13 years for $325M. If true that's just sick.

I was hearing $325M too, but hadn't heard how many years.... Damn....

I've been hearing the same. This will lock up Stanton as a Marlin for life.

If Jose Fernandez comes back from TJ surgery and has his lively hot fastball, and that Slider From Hell; I'd offer him (foolishly) a extended 6 year deal, with options by the Marlins, not options for Jose to execute, for additional years. Tho' 6 years can be a gamble with any SP......

The press is asking can the Marlins afford Stanton's kind of money? Answer: "they wouldn't be offering him this deal if they didn't have the bucks...$$$$ :smile:

Or until they have another fire sale.

...per John Heyman;

... a deal is now firmly in place for 13 years/$325 Mil...with a no trade clause and an opt out clause.

...I have no words.

Then I heard correctly (see post #10). That's just plain ridiculous. And again with the f'king opt out clause. I wonder after how many years for that to happen. I'll tell you, these stupid owners will never learn.

6 years, he'll be 31. But seriously who the hell is going to up that amount at that time.

...not sure.

...because we don't know whether the money is evenly distributed over the life of the contract, or if it's front end or back end loaded.
