CABBIE Mike Sutton found his new home had been under-pinned — with a stash of 100 false legs beneath the floorboards.

The artificial limbs were found by a plumber repairing the bungalow’s central heating.

Mike, 65, said: “He came up and showed us a false leg he found and then said there were 99 more to go with them under the floorboards.

“I thought he was having a laugh at first but when I looked down there I realised he wasn’t joking.”

The left and right legs were of different sizes and most had pristine leather straps attached. Crammed between them were a number of crutches and a couple of walking frames.

Neighbours in Bridport, Dorset, said the haul had probably been left by the previous owner — described as a “Del Boy” wheeler-dealer.

Mike’s wife Teresa, 66, said: “The man who lived here used to buy a range of things and sell them on to make a quick buck. Maybe no one wanted to buy his legs.

“He’s gone to Portugal and we have no way of contacting him.”

She added: “The thought of all those legs gives me the creeps.”

The couple are searching for a charity that can make use of the legs.
