1968 = 2015?

47 years ago, Mickey Mantle's last full season. The reason I bring this up is because in 1968 no Yankee with at least 300 ABs battered 280. As a matter of fact the highest batting average belonged to Roy White he hit 267.

Fast forward to 2015 this could be the first time since 1968 that no player on the team with at least 300 ABs will hit 280. Currently A-Rod is the teams leading hitter at 274.

Just pathetic.

Yeah but Headley has great range. Drew will snap out of it once he has solid playing time. McCann is still learning the AL. Tex is getting better. Beltran hasn't been healthy.

Yep, 68 was NOT a fun year for Yanx Fans.......

The Yanx scored only 536 Runs that horrid year.......with a collective .230 Team Batting Avg, for the starting 8 position players...

The one and only highlight to me with the 68 Yanx was Mel Stottlemyre, with His 21-12 record, a 2.45 Era, with 19 Complete Games thrown, along with 278.2 IP; with 6 Shutouts.....Stan Bahnsen had a pretty good year too, with a 2.05 Era, a 17-12 Record, 10 Complete games thrown, 267.1 IP.

Gene Michael played 61 games at SS, and Rocco Colavito played in 39 games...

How many people remember Bobby Cox playing 3rd base for the Yanx that year...?
