1st Triple-Double of the Season...

J-Kidd gets 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in the Nets victory over Toronto. The FIRST Nets game of the season.Great start for him! I know he's always a triple-double threat, but he started strong out of the gate.

It also helped that he had TJ Ford defending him. Nothing against Kidd, but he should be expected to dominate a guy like Ford, and that showed in Kidd shooting 7/12 from the field. Kidd isn't a 58% shooter, he's a 41% shooter.

I'd understand if he scored 30 points or so, but 14 points is just one point above his last season average of 13 per game.Rebounds? Any big man on any team could have tried to stop Kidd from getting rebounds. Ford couldn't have done much anyway. There isn't another PG in this entire league who is capable of grabbing 7-8 rebounds a night over Kidd. That'd be a miracle if it happened.Assists, you say? Dont get me wrong, if that was Billups or another strong defensive PG, it would have been harder for Kidd then it was last night obviously. Kidd could pick apart any defense in this league with his passing and not to mention him being probely the best rebounding PG in the league. Overal though, I was happy with the overal performance by the nets. I thought that Kidd had a very good game like usual, Vince had a great game, didnt shoot to much but still got the job done with his 10 for 16 shooting. A couple of stupid shots but we could live with that as long as they dont get out of control. Nened was very impresive, a couple of fast break points for him, hit a couple of long range shots. RJ was solid like usual. Miki Moore was very good off the bench, he crashed the boards a lot and Kidd got him some-what involved in the offense. I really liked Marcus Williams' performance last night, he had a very solid game. I didnt like the way Antonio Wright played though, a lot of stupid mistakes and had a hard time knocking down a shot. But overal, good performance by the Nets.

First off I said "nothing against Kidd", meaning I don't think he sucks and that he's a good player. 41% shooters don't just shoot 58% for no reason. Most likely it was because the defender was below average, which Ford is. Incase you've never watched Kidd play, he gets a lot of his rebounds off of long rebounds that go over all the bigs and back out to him, which explains why he has more than one offensive rebound a game. You're overrating Kidd so much. He's obviously a great player. He's a great playmaker and good at sneaking in a few rebounds, but you're talking about Kidd like hes a 20 ppg 50% shooter. The guy is a career 40% shooter. That is NOT good. 40% nowadays is terrible. Kidd is no longer the best PG in the NBA anyways. Iverson, Billups, Paul and Nash are all better than him. Finally time for you to face that reality.

He scored that few because he took 12 shots, and made 7 of them. No threes, no free throws. Just jumpshots basically, which he was open because (going all the way back to my previous point) TJ Ford cannot play defense for his life.EDIT: Illosophee I also forgot to bring up his FIVE turnovers.

Do you really expect him to shoot three-pters? I don't.Also, though Ford is a horrible defender, he was not the only person defending JKidd. Others stepped up to pick a bone with Kidd. Nobody was successful. Okay, so Kidd shot .583% FGs, but not everyone can do that. Ford showed enough defense to stop Kidd from making the other 5 shot attempts that he missed, right? There you go. That settles that.Last but not least, I understand that JKidd may not be the best PG in the league right now and I never claimed he was the best PG in the league right now, but he is <u>one of the top 5 PGs of all time</u>. If you would watch the game before you open your mouth, you would have saw Kidd made some very long shots, im preety sure 3 of them were 3s but his foot was on the line.
