Let's get this thread started.

First off, looking at Atlanta's roster, I think they're hoarding half the centers in the league.

http://espn.go.com/nba/team/roster/_/name/atl/atlanta-hawks

They have six and we have zero. LOL :D

Should be fun with Wallace coming! And since my last name is Wallace, I'm personally happy that we have another Wallace on the team, and one who's not a hothead!

Hope Camby is back, we really need him.

Let's get real. Hilton Armstrong, Etan Thomas, Josh Powell and Jason Collins? Child please.

I'd take either one of them for our roster right now. I don't get why Camby still isn't back. Dude has been practicing for 1 (2?) weeks now, but doesn't want to play? Just confusing.

Camby never plays against former teams, remember (didn't he play for DEN?). He'll play against ATL.

He mentioned in an interview yesterday that the pain in his knee was gone....yet he's still not playing? I don't get it, it's really frustrating watching the guys play 40+ minutes per game and Camby still sitting in street clothes. I guess I can't really say anything though since I don't know the real issue.

Aldridge played 51 tonight. Wes played 50. Dre 43, Rudy 44, and Nic battled for 37 on one ankle and an upset stomach. Hell Roy played PF for a couple stretches there. Come on, Marcus, if you're ready... play.

Camby is expected to play against the Hawks, according to the radio after the game.

For real? Who claimed this? I hope so!

I heard it on the 5th quarter show- I think Jay Allen said it. He said Wallace will play against the Hawks and that Camby also is expected to play. But aren't you an insider, homie? Where's the scoop?

Every now and then I come across stuff. Actually on the road a lot more then at home. I have talked to Marcus and he has said he wants to make sure is def ready to return.

Thanks for that tidbit. That's good to hear. Canzano was making it sound like Camby was sitting out to protest or to avoid getting traded.

I can't wait till Sunday. Hopefully, we get our full roster back (minus Greg and Williams, of course). I wanna see what we have!

I bought tickets to this game during last nights game. I rarely go to games because I don't find it that much better than watching the game at home. This will be my second game of the season.

I remember when Etan Thomas and Hilton Armstrong were both considered solid role players.

If that is the way Brandon Roy is gonna play, then we have a chance. He scored within the offense, and didn't dominate the ball one time. Great overall game by the team. The ball still has to go through LA

It's our own iteration of Ginobili-Duncan.

I really Roy fully embraces his role off the bench.

really good defensive team....

starters get lots of minutes but if they play those ethan thomas types.... we will run them off the floor. crawford off the bench helps but thats really it for scoring.

they played great last night

I don't like our chances as we will have to gel orba few games, and atlantas defense is no joke. We are favored by 4.5

Also we have lost 4 straight to Atlanta which screams bad matchup for Portland.

Talking about the ball going through LA; people have probably noticed that when Mathews or Batum feeds LA, that then they drive in past him to the left (outside) of him, and sometimes if they beat their man then LA hands it off to them and they go for a dunk. Well teams have adjusted and go hard to try to stay ahead of the "driver". (When Roy feeds LA he then goes directly towards the basket.)

Anyway, two ideas. First, the driver is sometimes beating his man and not getting a handoff, maybe LA has just forgotten because this has been guarded so well usually. Second, could they work up some variations on this play. For example could the driver suddenly pull up and cut inside LA for a handoff going to the basket? (although this might result in a collision if an early double team was coming?).

Or what if Roy also always drove to the outside and if he sometimes just stopped and stepped back and LA tossed it to him for a short jump shot (unguarded because Aldridge acts as a screen). Seems like Roy would make a large percent of those. Anyway just seems as if more could be done around this simple setup.

Now, that's just plain lazy posting.

Good post, Ukraine. Aldridge is predictable, but he still succeeds because of his height.

Bickerstaff on the radio damns Wallace with faint praise. "He's another option." "He gives coach another option". "He's another option on both ends of the floor" "He's not a panacea".

Shit, I'd be another option, if they'd just sign me to a contract. I'm no panacea either.
