Down Goes Dixon
Arizona34 Oregon24
Nov. 15, 2007: Four No. 2 teams in the previous five weeks had lost. Yet new No. 2 Oregon (8-1) didn't have reason to be concerned. Quarterback Dennis Dixon, the leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy, returned from a knee injury to play at Arizona. The Ducks led the Wildcats 8-7 when Dixon attempted to juke linebacker Dane Krogstad. Dixon crumpled, his left ACL gone. The dispirited Ducks lost 34-24. Goodbye, Rose Bowl. So long, Heisman. The Ducks lost their last two regular-season games, too.

Fuck.

That was the saddest game I had ever seen. It still hurts. But, I find some consolation in the fact OSU players prefer sheep to women. Talk about something that can never be lived down...

:sigh: right up there with Game 7 for me.. possibly worse, because I was only 14 when Game 7 happened. I remember Standing in the shower depressed literally two weeks after it happened.

F-ing A! I'm depressed now!

You know as awful as that was, I think this year's game at Arizona at least partially made up for it. I'll never forget the clutch, clutch play toward the end and sticking it to all the dipshit fans who made their way on the field too early. That was pretty epic :)

While I agree totally... sticking it to those stupid fans felt GREAT! And I scared my whole neighborhood screamuing when Ed Dickson caught the pass, and Masoli won it later on. My elation was high and was for a while, but it still wasnt as high for me, as the lows were after Dixon went down. But that was just for me.

Heh, I was in a bar in Portland. It was nuts during those two times you mentioned. I think I hugged/high fived about 50 random people that night
