Since it was requested, here is a thread to talk about other teams and to defend your team.
 
My team so far has a Center in Amare, A SF in Gerald Wallace and a Shooting Guard in Josh Howard.

All three players can score at will but I really like having Wallace and Howard together because they know that they don't need the ball in their hands to be effective. They work just as hard on defense as on offense. This team is athletic and knows how to finish. They are all young and Amare seems very healthy after playing 79 and 82 games over the last 2 years.

I don't believe Josh Howard can play SG effectively for more than a few minutes a game. I believe you are better off staying small since you have Amare at center and move Wallace to PF to keep the better player at his natural SF spot.
 
Portland has a very tall team that fits so far. With the interior size of Yao and Sheed, they can pick up some guards that gamble on defense. Absolutely need a PG that is good at feeding the post and is willing to defer to his teammates. Health is definitely a concern because of Yao.

Minnesota can score, but can't defend anyone. They need to draft some heart and some grit.

Memphis has an interesting issue to address as they go forward. CP3 and JRich allow for a very nice fast pace, but Kaman is a half court center.

Great Point in going small with Wallace at PF. Wallace is a tweener between PF and SF and has the skills to play either forward position. So if I'm a coach here, it offers different lineup possibilities depending on the rest of my draft.

I do think Howard can play SG just as well as SF. He may have a little trouble guarding smaller, quicker guards but if you think about it his offense is a good fit for either SG or SF, he has a very solid mid range jumpshot as well as being able to drive and score.

Memphis is very interesting. Kaman will fit in fine just as Tyson Chandler fit in. Jrich does not play good defense though but he can really stroke it from 3pt land. It is still not as good as the real Hornets team though, we'll see how he finishes out the starting 5
 
Amare is much more effective at the PF position. And your going to get killed in the post if Wallace is your PF and Amare is your C. Howard can't keep up with shooting guards

Most likely I'll go with Howard at SG. You say Howard Can't keep up with shooting guards but will smaller guards be able to keep up with Howard? Howard is a typical swingman. he can use his height and athleticism to exploit defensive mismatches and post up or shoot over smaller players. Howard has good enough ball handing skills to play the 2 and his outside jump shot inside the 3 point line is money.

The only question is he quick enough to guard Sgs. He usually guards the best scorer on the other team and has expierence as a starting guard. hes spent considerable time at both positions. I think he will do just fine. He knows how to play defense I don't think that will be a problem
 
So I've got Ellis, Martin, and Bynum right now. I'm not sure how I like it, tbh. All 3 are good 2 way players, very efficient too, with a defensive anchor in the middle who can rebound, and 2 perimeter players who can handle the scoring load, and I believe compliment each others game well, Ellis a slasher, while Martin can stroke the ball. All three are young with a lot of upside, and they can run too.

But I don't really like Ellis as the primary ball-handler, and I'm not sure how well Kevin would move over to SF. I don't think my other perimeter guy will need many tools though, I'd like him to handle the ball, defend, and run, but beyond that, I don't think he'll need to be anything special. At the power forward spot, an athletic big who has a decent jumper would be ideal, but I think pretty much everyone else could say that too.

So really, although I'm not sure about my team now, I think I'll like it once I get my picks.

Joe Johnson and Dwight Howard.

Best inside-outside tandem since Kobe and Shaq. Magic and Kareem. Bird and Russell.

I smell multiple championships.

Yeah, I really like pegs's team thus far. He has a great duo with Howard and JJ. All he needs to do now is surround them with the right supporting cast.
 
How is Kaman only half court center? Memphis is going to run but not at warriors/nugs pace but more like Jazz. Kaman handles the rebounding and I'm sure he and Paul could be great pick and roll -tandem. JRich is going to have lots of openlooks for three pointers from Paul's kickouts. His d isn't great but good enough to warrant picking him before likes of SJax, Lewis and Wallace. At this point in the draft only orlando has good enough team to compete with me
btw Josh Howard was Richard Jefferson of the west this season, can't shoot threes but tries anyway, won't play d.

I think my 3 of Melo, Redd, and kirk can work out. Melo can score easily along with Redd, they aren't great defenders but Kirk is a good defender who can guard both guard spots and he is also a good passer who can get the ball to both of these guys.

A lot of offense no doubt. I actually was thinking of taking Hinrich with the Odom pick. He's an excellent pick.
 
I like Odom chandler and wade.... Odom(great passer) fits well with wade, chandler is still relatively young.

Very solid core.


I dont like Josh howard, Gerald Wallace and Amare.

Although Amare is really a beast, Josh and Gerald are not good shooters. I would rather have a better scorer instead.
 
I haven't really gotten any feedback yet on my picks. What does everyone think about Deron, Pierce, and Okur?
 
Your team sucks, I'm not fixing it though.

You don't expect Pierce to adapt to Deron like he adapted to KG?
 
You have a lot of talent but you are pretty bad at matching players that can play with each other, Real. Chemistry is a big part of this game, look at the Warriors, they don't have many star players but they are able to mesh well together and that wins games for them. This happened last year with Duncan and TJ Ford too. It's not as bad this year because the talent level is higher. I really think you should try to either build around Pierce or trade him and construct a team starting with Derron and Okur. I'm not blasting you for trading for Pierce because he is a good player and you might be able to turn around and trade him again, maybe even get more value then you put out in the first place.

He didn't have to change his game to adapt to KG. He would have to change it to play with Derron and Okur.

don't feel bad Real if people are gonna bash you for chemistry cause there just gonna bash me twice as hard. lol
