Here are the top two, and bottom two MLB Teams Attendance:

Top Two-
L.A. Bums: 3,743,527
NY Yankees: 3,279,589

Bottom Two-
Tampa Bay Rays: 1,510,300
Miami Marlins: 1,586,322

I could go further and post each teams, tho' that would take a couple hours or so. I will take requests tho'. (Any team's attendace you want to know)?

wonder is that tickets sold or those who push the turnstile
I can only imagine the ticket prices for rays and marlins

The numbers noted, are for tickets sold only. So, imagine how few people actually are in the seats for every game.

Magic Johnson said he gave fans a reprieve by not selling 50,000 season tickets this year. The arrogant pompous butt, acted like he's doing fans a favor, by leaving all the nosebleed seats for game day.

On the other hand, in L.A. city of fair weather fans, half the stadium (or more) empties out by the 6th innning. They all rush to to beat the Freeway rush, thus creating one!

I'd be very curious to see the turnstile numbers...

I'm interested in the correlation of tix sold/tix revenue, and roster payroll.

what are yanks average tix prices, $100 maybe? that right there is 300+ million dollars, and that is before parking/concessions/etc, not to mention the tv deal

Don't forget to factor in operational costs which would likely be much higher in NYC than anywhere else

Excellent questions, of which I cannot answer......profit margins...operational costs, revenue versus payroll, as well as those huge TV contract revenues, factored in with all income. A big beast, to large for this boy to tackle...tho' I wish I knew those stats and $$$ numbers.

the problem you have is us accountants....so easy to disguise income and expenses when you have multiple companies to play with.
The Yes Network makes tons of money..do they pay a fair broadcasting fee to the Yankees? Not sure since as an accountant we control how the books appear.

...^^^my wife is an accountant...and you're right, there's a lot of "sleight of hand" involved sometimes in number crunching..

LMAO......good one...~!!

Number crunchers. Ha..! They get you every time, sleight of hand and mind..!

Early in my career, I had to learn the hard way, how one can take numbers which show a systemic failure or problem, and make the problem look like everything is utterly fantastic, when the wheels are wobbling ready to fall off. Yep, everything is as great as can be, regardless of those crazy numbers.
