All-star voting is, and will always be, trash.
As long as the NBA allows fans to vote it will always be trash. It's been that way for a long time. Luka is the one of the most popular players in the NBA and the all-star voting is a popularity contest. Honestly, I don't know why anybody is surprised.

Actually the world. International players get the added benefit from a 2nd country.
But to be honest who cares who starts? They just care if they are selected or not.

Steph Curry and Luka have worse records than Dame in the West...for either of them to be picked over Dame with Harden gone now is just wrong on many levels....Dame earned the start...got jobbed again

no problem with Curry being a starter...he's earned it both career-wise and this season. Doncic is a great young player who fills up the stat sheet, but he's not as good as Dame

What's funn about this is that the whole point of the media and players voting was to eliminate the snubs, etc. But if yo look at it, there was no way for Damian to win a starting spot in this scenario, unless somehow Luka dropped to 4th in either players or media. And that wasn't going to happen. So what's the point of having the media and players vote?
