Gonna buy a truck in the next year or so. I'm an accountant so I'm naturally cheap.

I like the nissan frontiers.

The ford f150 is my favorite but expensive.

The dodge ram 1500 in my opinion is likely the best bang for your buck.

Examples: right now you can find

2016 nissan frontier 4 door 4x4 with 26k miles for 22k.

2010 ford f150 4 door 4x4 with 47k miles for 21k.

2016 dodge ram 4 door 4x4 with 19k miles for 23k.

Thoughts? Any of you have one of these trucks?

What are you going to use it for?

Working on the home you only need a 2x4. Less price, less maintenance, better ride, better milage.

What do you need 4 doors for? Would a king cab work?

Do you want a full bed? 4 doors and a full bed is a pretty long truck.

I have a 13 year old Chevy 4x4, 105k miles. 5 speed stick. Great truck, probably never buy another, but if I did, it would be the Toyota for the gas milage.

I am gonna keep it for decades. Use it more when its younger, keep it around for house shit and hunting as it gets older.
4 door to take the family around in. Planning on getting the wifey pregnant by the end of the year.

I would like a full bed but meh. 4 doors is more important to me.

Here are the ones i have been eyeing.

Good price and basically brand new https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/696450591/overview/

A little older, but lower miles https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/701842138/overview/

Get the Nissan.

IMO Dodge is junk.

Make sure the truck spent it's life in Oregon or Washington. Carfax don't mean chit.

Still have that diesel Tahoe? That thing will run forever.

Before I got the Chevy, I had a Ford Club with a full length bed. It was fine over at the ranch in eastern Oregon, but I hated the damn thing over on the westside.
Had a turning radius like the BB Missouri. Just unusable in shopping parking lots. Best get a short bed.

Yeah i like the nissan. My bros will give me major shit with it. Not that i necessarily care though.

Fuck. Why cant the ford be cheaper.

My 4 runner is paid off. But in a couple years I'm getting a newer Tundra.

I'll probably test drive them in the next 6 months or so. I've been keeping an eye out for awhile.

You seem more like one of those Honda truck type of dudes, lol.

Why hate the best?
My parents had a couple camrys growing up and i fucking hateeeeeeee them. The most boring cars ever.

I don't hate on people having them. I'm a big Subaru guy. And i've had a couple hondas when i was younger i really enjoyed. Just liked driving them way more.

The ridgeline is super lame. So no on that.

I like nissan. Used to drive a ex gfs nissan altima.

But, love the look of ford trucks the most. Spendy they are though.

Fuck that dude. Hate the ridgeline.

I'm the black sheep of my fam cause i grew up and went to reynolds. Most my relatives went to sandy though. And i've been hunting since i was 12.

Well yeah, mid-90's Camry's are about the definition of a grandma's car. Tundra's are about as dope as it gets. Keep they're value.

Ford's are my least favorite. If I don't get a Tundra, I'm probably going towards a GMC Sierra, or a Ram.

Tundras look cool. I have an asian stepbro and stepmom that are obsessed with toyota too. They shit all over subaru so we have had a couple pissing matches.
I like the gmcs too. I've just known too many people with gmcs that have died before 100k. And they are expensive.

I like the ram. Good value too. Just scared of chrysler because they suck dong.

I had a Nissan Frontier, second best vehicle I have ever owned in 60+ years of driving. It did everything I asked of it, including pulling a small travel trailer over very rough dirt roads in Baja Mexico, in first gear low range 4X4 for many miles. Which was amazing for a 4 cylinder engine.

Best truck I ever owned is the Chevy 2500HD with diesel. But it is a difference class of truck. Worst truck was the Dodge.

I was just going to suggest the Ridgeline since they always seem to be the cheapest, lol.

It mystifies me why you see so many Dodge trucks on the road these days. Playing a game with two grandsons last year, driving to Eugene, counting our trucks. I had Chevy, the boys had Ford and Dodge. Dammed if we didn't see more Dodges that both of the others and all of them relatively new.

Supposedly ford is releasing the ford ranger again. But its gonna be comparable to the tacoma and frontier in size.

Agreed, I don't get it either. I do like their Cummins diesel engine. But the rest of the truck is junk. Mine would blow the tranny every 20k miles. Plus the wiring was a mess. Lots of parts all over broke faster than I could fix it.

Every time I think about looking at Dodge trucks again, I just start banging my head against the wall until I wake up.

Any accountant who wants a 4 door truck would buy a Tacoma. A new one as a used one almost costs the same. Search Craigslist for a 3 year old Tacoma and you'll be amazed at how much they go for.

I fixed a 7 year old one a few months ago that purred like a brand new car but had 170,000 miles. If not for the wear and tear visible on the seats you'd have never been able to guess the mileage.
