Go look at Stepan's numbers for over his career and then look at his numbers this year. What are you expecting? I'd love to have Crosby or Tavares centering the first line but it is what it is.

And let's be real here, the D zone lapses this team has had for 2 years now are alarming. At least some of that has to be on the coaches. And let's also be real here and all say the Rangers need to play much better than they have the past 4-6 weeks to have a shot to beat Price and Montreal. That's real.

They certainly can do it as Montreal is nothing special, but the way this team has played for a while now, they'll lose in 6 games tops. Hope they can flip that switch when the games matter again, that's what we're all hoping for if we believe the Rangers can/will win that series.

Certainly your right. Not everyone has to agree with that. Personally I don't know how it can possibly be fun to be a "fan" of a team and rip them all the time, coaches and some/most of the players, but again that is your right man. Good for you.

Imagine what it would be like if this team was truly as bad as the posts in here would make you believe. Clearly this is not a top team. Clearly their D zone structure is terrible way too often. But this is a solid team, that can get hot and win a round or two in the Atlantic. Not saying they will, but they can with that draw.

Everyone on this board love the Rangers and want this team to win a cup. But those of us, including me, who live in reality and realize that this team cannot and will not win the cup this year are not bad fans who are miserable. They will not win with this roster and with this coach. Hank cannot win a game by himself anymore. Perhaps it is not his fault but more of the system that they play. Hank just said in the post game, "they have a lot of great looks and time to make a play and shoot". I blame AV's stupid system.

I work on LI and entire office are Islanders fans. They all such idiots who still believe the Islanders will make the playoffs and win the cup. When Isles were closing on the 8th spot, they all were walking around saying how Washington are afraid to play them. Does that make them real fans? No! It makes them idiots who don't understand hockey and the NHL. To that point, dump is not miserable, and he is not trying to take everyone down with his misery. Dump is saying that this team, this year is simply not a good team and most likely they will lose to MTL.

If some of you want to believe, then believe, but the reality is a reality. I predict 4:2 MTL wins.

I believed in Rangers during Torts years way more because within Torts system they played team defense that helps a goalie like Lundqvist. Rangers had a way better chance to win a game 2:1 or 1:0 back then and win a series.

Chuck, the team is not terrible. They are good regular season team as the head guy's system is. Just not good enough as always in the postseason. You are that kind of fan who knows the team is not a strong playoff team but will still say safe things just in case they will make a good run like in 2013-14 season.

And for the record, I am starting to dislike the coach also. Once again, there have just been way too many times the players were lost in the D zone the past 2 seasons. Weak side no Ranger to be seen. Slot wide open. Just terrible structure and discipline. It has happened too often to not say coaching plays a role.

Personally I think the Rangers need a coach between Torts and AV. Torts was too much D and collapse and block when he was here. And AV is too loose and not tough enough based on what I have seen. Need a happy medium.

So I get it, and am getting frustrated with the constant D zone breakdowns. And if they lose to the Habs in round 1, a change is needed I think. Won't happen, but I would be on board.

But I'll let it play out first before I go off and jump ship.

Apparently you live in your own reality 2009, because I don't recall anyone writing this team will win the Cup this season. I do see about 2 or 3 honest fans on this board writing they can make a run in the Atlantic bracket if they play well, but I don't see anyone saying they'll beat the Pens, or Caps, or Hawks in the playoffs.

And I'm not Chuck, but I'll say what I think is honest. I won't sit here and rip everything, not sure what the point of that is. I will say I believe they can make a run in the Atlantic IF they get their game back together. The way they are playing now, and have been for the past 4-6 weeks, yeah they'll lose in 6 tops to Montreal (maybe 5).
