We have to run the table and win all 7. That would make us 29-26 with a solid shot at playoffs. Three games remaining against Jazz including season finale. Gotta win at least 2 of those but all three would be better. With the addition of Hickson and the emergence of Matthews' shooting, I think we can do this. If Felton isn't cutting it, though, KC can't be afraid to give Flynn a chance- survival of the fittest at point guard.

Go Blazers

P.S. Nate, Nik, and MM- I know you want to tank. No need to beat a dead horse. You've been heard. This is for the fans who are still cheering for their team. Peace.

Go blazers!!!! Fuck tanking and let's play with pride. Let's make the playoffs.

Well as we all know there's only one valid opinion around here.

I didn't say your opinion was invalid. It's very valid but I know it. This thread wasn't me merely stating my opinion. I was providing specific facts and a strategy that might get us into the playoffs. You all merely saying "I don't want to make the playoffs" yet again wouldn't have added anything new to the thread. This was a thread to start breaking down how we can make the playoffs for those who wish to make the playoffs.

Also- the team is clearly trying to win and the players have said so, so it doesn't make sense for you to try to convince me that we shouldn't win. Even if it's valid idea/strategy to lose, it's a moot point. They're trying to win. Let's deal with the reality of what is actually happening.

We're not going to win all seven. If we go 4 and 3 it will be an accomplishment. We gotta TANK BABY!

why do you hate the blazers?

So I'm gonna go ahead and beat the dead horseback a little (fuck it why not?) For all of the people that want to squeak into the playoffs I get that you must believe that some kind of miracle run is going to happen ... but just how much of a miracle are we talking about? Second round? And then what? A pick in the twenties that won't mean a damn thing to this team's longterm future. Half the team gone anyway because of expiring contracts? I just want to hear the end-game described. Does a 1% chance of getting by OKC and getting to watch an extta 8 or 9 games really make it worth it to miss out on the chance at a real differnce maker that might give this team 4 or 5 more chances to maybe do something truly meaningful down the line? Don't get me wrong if I thought this team was on the cusp of being great I'd say push the chips in and let it ride, but if you guys were being honest you'd admit that isn't the case right now.

We got Batum with a pick in the 20s. Plus we hopefully get NJ's pick

And as I said, Nik, the players are trying to win so your point is moot.

if the zurs sneak into the playoffs they will prolly be picking around 16th anyhoo, not in the 20's

We have no bench. We would be smart to tank.

I don't get the people who are fans and happy that we're winning right now. It's too little too late and the winning is actually more detrimental then helpful in multiple ways. Our draft pick gets worse, and our coaching staff isn't going to be able to evaluate the younger talent because they're still trying to win a championship we have no possible chance of winning. We should be tanking and evaluating the talent on the team. I'm not saying the players shouldn't be trying to win, but the coaching staff needs to be starting Thabeet, Hickson, and Flynn and resting LMA and Felton so that if we do win games there is something to be excited about. I think Thabeet is important, we need to decide if he is staying or not and if so we need to get him on an Offensive Lineman Diet right away. I still think anyone 7'3 can have an effect on the defensive end of the court, he's just gotta bulk up.

3/27 vs Thunder = Loss
3/29 vs Hornets = Win
4/1 vs Wolves = Loss
4/2 vs Jazz = Win
4/4 vs Nets = Win
4/9 vs Rockets = Loss

I watch a 90% of the blazer games every year and I cant sit watching them lose and be happy about it. Ever. I love watching players develop and breakout but im not content to see us bench a better player to give the young guys time. Bottom line is I watch because I love seeing this team play and I love seeing them pull out a win not purposely lose. If we lose because we dont have the talent thats one thing but if we have the talent and the ability to make the playoffs then thats the goal. I expect to see us leave it all on the court until we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Hollinger's playoff predictor had us at 14% to make the playoffs a day ago. Today we're at 11%
