On Thursday, Oct. 21, the Blazers close the preseason with a home game against the Denver Nuggets at 7 p.m. On the same night, the Oregon football team also has a home game, against UCLA in one of those prime-time ESPN broadcasts that start at 6 p.m.

LaMichael James beats Brandon Roy. The Ducks and Blazers both are broadcast on KXTG-FM (95.5 The Game), and Alpha Broadcasting program director Brian Jennings says the Oregon game will be kept on the FM station, with the Blazers game moved to Alpha's strongest AM station, KXL (750).

There also are two dates on which the Ducks and Blazers overlap during the NBA regular season. On Saturday, Oct. 30, Oregon is at USC at 5 p.m., and the Blazers are at Philadelphia at 4 p.m. And on Friday, Nov. 26 (yes, a Friday football game -- does ESPN's influence ever end?), Oregon plays host to Arizona (that should be huge) at 4 p.m., and the Blazers play host to New Orleans at 7 p.m.

In both those cases, Jennings says, Oregon will stay on the FM station, and the Blazers will move to KXL.

I know what you're wondering -- no, the Blazers don't have a game on Jan. 10, the date of the national championship game.

Oregon barely has double digit games while the Blazers have 82+. Each one of Oregon's games mean more (until they lose), so it makes sense.
