I just watched the last part of this game on nbatv, and the jazz got so robbed. They lost by 1, but there was a 5 point swing just in missed shot clock calls (called a harper 2 good when time had expired and an eisely 3 no good when there was over a second left. Under the modern replay rules, the Jazz would have won game 6.

It's sad that Malone and Stockton never won a title, they were two of the best players ever at the position, and Jerry Sloan is one of the best coaches every. The runner-ups are so easily forgotten in sports while the winners are really elevated, but a lot of times the difference between the two comes down to officiating.

I wonder how Jordan's legacy would have been altered if he were only 5 for 6 in finals appearances. Would he still be considered the hands-down greatest non-center of all time, or would he be considered more equal with Magic and #8/24?

I watched that game too....terrible refs...Karl Malone really choked at the free throw line though...Hornacek got so many terrible fouls called guarding Jordan..non of which were fouls.

I watched the Blazers Spurs overtime game Sat night too...forgot how much Clyde dribbled the ball...Strickland was still really fun to watch...don't know why Kersey didn't play much though.

I think Jordan was over-rated. Yes, he was one of the all-time greats, but his hype is up to mythic proportions. Some sport pundits talk about him like he some sort of demi-god. While he was a great scorer, he could certainly miss. He put up a lot of mid range jumpers and was an average 3pt shooter. He ranks 81st all time in true shooting percentage.

The Bulls won 6 of 6, but a lot of those came down to the wire, they barely escaped the East in some years. It's not like they just ran over everyone.

I saw one where Jordan ran right into Stockton, who had been planted there for at least a second, and of course, they call a blocking foul because it's Jordan. The refs can swing so many points one way or another with calls. You hope it balances out but it often does not.

In watching old games, I noticed that Clyde was a limited half court player. If you gave him a crease to the lane, he was nearly unstoppable, but he didn't seem to have many other moves. He would just sort of elevate and shoot the jumper. I'd say he was the best transition player in NBA history though.

I actually blame Jordan for the superstar call entering the game...he got away with murder..screamed at refs..traveled, palmed the ball...basically had a get out of foul trouble free pass for most of his career.

I agree...Dr. J and Oscar Robertson are two of my choices for greatest ever

I think Jabbar, Bird and Johnson were better than MJ.

Yes!!! I've been complaining about that for YEARS! That was bullshit. 5 point swing and Jordan pushed off and traveled. We were robbed of a game 7.
