If this gig doesn't work out for Ryan, and I don't foresee it doing so.

I hope to hell, Rex returns to his only strength, which so far has NOT been as a Head Coach, but a Defensive Coordinator. Like his twin bro' Rob, now in Nawlins with Les Fleur De Lis.

Dad set a helluva precedent for his boys, as Defensive Coordinators/Defensive Lines, or LB's; Specialists, more-so DC's. Which all 3 have found their way to Super Bowls.

Buddy was one of the old school lasts head coaches, who began as a damn fine DC for Weeb Ewbanks Jets in SB-III's era. Onto, the Infamous DC for those HOF: "Purple People Eaters." Tho' he worked for Ditka in Da Bears era, it was 'Papa Bear' Halas, who hired Ryan Sr. Monsters of the Midway.........!

If I'm not mistaken, all 3 have won SB rings as DC's, but not one as a Head Coach........one more line of family member coaches, and we've got a First Family of Defensive Strategists, tho' there's been many as good or greater.

I really don't know if he made this move because he thinks this kid could help his team or if it was just a shot at the Jets knowing he'll probably be released before the start of the season.
