Nice, my grandfather had just transfered off the AZ to the South Dacota and knew a lot of the guys on that ship. I did some research and found that he had experienced some big time battles, and had been decorated. The neet part was that when I sent my father the information, he had never known about it.

The generation that fought in that war were very special, and we lose a lot with the passing of each and every one.

Its pretty creepy seeing the memorial, knowing all the dead just under the water.

it was creepy pulling a couple-billion dollar submarine into the pier at Pearl right in front of the ex-USS Utah. There are still sailors aboard her, also...including a Medal of Honor winner who stayed at his post keeping the lights on.

..."everything that the Japanese were planning to do was known to the United States" ~ARMY BOARD, 1944

President Roosevelt (FDR) provoked the attack, knew about it in advance and covered up his failure to warn the Hawaiian commanders. FDR needed the attack to sucker Hitler to declare war, since the public and Congress were overwhelmingly against entering the war in Europe. It was his backdoor to war.

FDR blinded the commanders at Pearl Harbor and set them up by:

+denying intelligence to Hawaii (HI)
+on Nov 27, misleading the commanders into thinking negotiations with Japan were continuing to prevent them from realizing the war was on
+having false information sent to HI about the location of the Japanese carrier fleet.
