Dear Owner,
My name is xxxxxx. My father is xxxxx, the owner of the xxxxxx apartment complex that shares the walkway with your apartment building. I help my father manage these units. I would like to bring some matters to your attention.
Your tenants in unit B are oblivious to the common courtesies you should have when living in an apartment complex. They act like they are the only ones living here and are oblivious to everybody else living here. While I'm sure they are decent people overall their daily routine must stop. Let me tell you some of the things they do.
Not every day, but frequently they are very loud in the mornings including weekends. Mostly this includes the wife yelling quite loudly at the kids in the morning in and OUTSIDE of their apartment. I have received several complaints from our tenants that they are woken up to her yelling in the mornings on MANY occasions including weekends. If she truly believes she has to yell at her kids that often then at least have the common courtesy of doing inside their apartment with the windows closed. Nobody wants to hear her screaming at her kids on a constant basis especially to wake them up. Also, some mornings it wont be the wife yelling but instead it will be the husband going outside to hack up the flem from is throat in a loud manner for several minutes. Why cant he just do that in the bathroom like a normal person?
They treat their front walkway is their own little yard and playground. I do not understand rudeness on this matter. They use those metal bracing hoops for their tomato garden as a clothes line! Nobody wants to see their dirty (or clean) laundry, it is extremely tacky. One of the most mind boggling things they do is leave dirty diapers on their front walkway! They will take several SOILED diapers and leave them there for hours! Its unbelievable!
They have also decided the water fights on our shared walkway is an okay thing to do. We are in the middle of a drought and the city of Torrance has enacted an ordinance against watering plants during the daytime hours. If they are against putting the water to actual use during the day I know they would be against the frivolous use of a garden hose running for two hours. Nobody wants to come home from work and see a loud five year old kid in his underwear spraying water everywhere when they come home. This is also extra money coming out of your pocket too.
Now along with their wasting of water on water fights they have decided to bring a kiddy pool to the walkway! I don't know how they don't realize their rudeness. This kiddy pool takes up the entire walkway and they will leave it out there for hours. It will block the entrance to our unit B and they will have to step over a full kiddy pool to get to their front door. Of course with the kiddy pool comes the screaming kids. I don't blame the kids, they don't know any better, but several hours of kids screaming right by your front door is unacceptable. Recently they have also decided its okay to drain the kiddy pool at nights and just leave it resting on the hedge right in front of their apartment for all to see! There is a park 100 yards away that they can be as loud as they want, please tell them to use it.
They have a back porch just like all of our units, please tell them to use it. All of these things they do could be done in their back porch so everybody else doesn't have to deal with it. If they have decided to use it as storage that's their problem, not all of ours.
I don't want to tell them these things since I live here and don't want to start a cold war between tenants. Could you please brings these issues up to them (and leave my name out of it) so everybody else can live in peace. I'm sure overall they are good people but these issues must be addressed.
I hope you don't think I am angry with you because I am not. You have been very friendly to me when we have talked and the improvements you have made to your apartment building look great. I just hope you could resolve these issues for all the other tenants living here. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
Best Regards,
xxxxxx

FYI. I live in a 4 unit apt complex that shares a walkway with a mirror image of my complex. These are the only people with kids. Two adults and three kids in a 2 bedroom apartment!
