Milos Raonic Withdraws From Abierto Mexicano Telcel
The Canadian phenom's presence will be missing next week as Milos Raonic has decided to pull out of the ATP 500 in Acapulco due to a slightly torn adductor muscle which he suffered back in January at the Australian Open.
The news comes after having pulled out this week's event which took place in Delray Beach, however the upcoming event is much bigger given the fact it includes three times the prize money plus a better field.
Kei Nishikori cruised into the second round of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, Mexico on Monday, moving past Thiemo de Bakker of the Netherlands 6-0, 6-3 in less than an hour.
In the doubles opener Max Mirnyi and Treat Huey battled through the Australian duet of Chris Guccione and Bernard Tomic 4-6, 6-3, 14-12. In the quarterfinal the Belarusian-Filipino duo, seeded fourth, will take on either the American pair of Steve Johnson and Sam Querrey or the Polish-Mexican duet of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Santiago Gonzalez.
