I think it's because he's grown sensitive about being called out all these years. People who are overly sensitive to things can flinch just from something said that they jump to the conclusion that what is being said is calling him out.
I ask that you give him more latitude than you otherwise would feel inclined to do.

It's not so much that I'm insensitive. Rather, it's the personal insults, then piling-on effect that tends to make me snarky. Usually, in these cases, there's nothing being said that causes me to go "Hmmmm...." That is, unless it's from you, Lanny. ;)

Good Lord, don't make me think that you're saying that I make you snarky?
To your benefit, I'm sure there are a large number of people, led by Sly, who go Hmmmm from reading me. Oh yeah, my grandmother, my priest, my psychiatrist and my mother may have said that about me, however I did meet one guy who thought I was tops, okay it was a drunk in a bar who I bought a drink for that one time, still he was good people.

Actually, what I meant by "Hmmmm..." was to cause me to contemplate/consider, as opposed to getting all snarky.

As to your response. it's my guess that virtually any self-respecting LGBTQ person is opposed to conservatives politics. Could be wrong. If so, please enlighten me.
