I shopped at that store in 2017 while I was in Boulder for my cousins wedding. Good grief. What is with mass shootings in the state of Colorado.

Possibilities for this guy:

1. Religion of Peace
I wonder if his last name is spelled Al-Issa instead of Alissa, which is odd. Likely had no role in it.

2. Incel / Cuck
In Facebook posts over the last 18 months, he complained about not having a girlfriend and ranted about President Trump.

Alissa, a high school wrestler who has been described by his family as 'mentally ill', was born in Syria and moved to the US when he was three. His brother confirmed he was the shooter in an interview with The Daily Beast on Tuesday, saying he was 'paranoid' and 'very antisocial'. The brother said he believes he is mentally ill, and described how he was convinced people were 'after him' in high school.

How fricking ironic would it be to finally get fully vaccinated after a year in Covid-hiding, and then get blown away by some nutjob asshole with a gun on your first trip out to the grocery store?

I anticipate a lot of violence and incidents once things open up, as people with pent up rage release it after being locked down a year of their lives. Saw some of it last summer, it will probably be worse to come.

Same here. Sadly, I suspect malls, movie theaters, stores and schools will be targets for people to release their rage.

Oregon has had a high school (Springfield I think? Kip Kinkle), a college (Southern Oregon?) and a mall (CTC).

Sadly, it's probably not an uncommon thing anymore.

It's sad that incel has become part of the vocabulary now. It's another successful attempt at wiring sex with shame. What a waste of life too, obsessing over things that don't matter that much in the end. Lift some weights instead of measuring jaw bones and booking Tibetan leg lengthening surgery, goddamn.

I noticed that it's a weird double edged sword here. Part of it goes "ha ha, you're a virgin/don't have sex" and the other part goes "ha ha, you're some loser who can't get girls".

Wait, that's two sides of the same coin. My bad.

One thing that is funny is that we glorify having sex and mock those who don't or who are socially awkward, and the only way you can get over that mocking is to be big, manly and strong. So clearly, shooting people.

Instead of just jacking off like a normal person does.

A guy I know was in prison in Stayton with Kip. Says Kinkle is mostly segregated from others but now looks like a fitness model because he works out all the time.

Ideal inmate now who was a mentally fucked up kid and accepts what he did. Found spirituality and all that stuff. I suppose if you’re facing the rest of your life in prison you can either give up or try and improve yourself, and it appears he’s done the latter.

That's the kind of experience people who are in prison should thrive for. Clearly, not everyone has the strength to do that, partly because prisons are driven by profit, power, and control. That and the belief that there's no chance to rehab anyone, or it's not worth the time, etc.
 
"incel" is a term that that community created for themselves, not a pejorative that the mainstream came up with to mock people who "can't get laid." The term itself is incredibly stupid--involuntarily celibate implies that someone else is forcing this circumstance upon them, which is why the incel community is synonymous with rage against women. They believe women are locking them out of the sex that they want and deserve.
