Yanks have the lowest ERA In the division, tied for 2nd in HRs with only Baltimore having more HRs within the division. Two games out of first place.

Such is the situation when we bitched and moaned after FIVE games.

Kumbaya!

...loling @ cherry picking to make things seem rosier.............after 6 games (all at home), the Yanx are 2-4.

I'll take the ERA, but how much of that was helped out by the 19 inning game? Also, who cares how many home runs are hit? If you depend on the long ball, you're going to have a rough season...

When I created the thread "Through 5" I had not intended to do it after every game. And I certainly wouldn't have been the opportunist to do it after scoring 14 runs knowing that this ONE game would change & pad the statistics drastically & make all things look a little better. Something tells me that you would not gave created this thread if the Yankees won 3-2 or 2-1 on 4 or 5 hits.

Real cute,

^^^ yup, the ERA was skewed by the 19 inning game just as the HR total was skewed by last night's game.

.

The only thing you could take from last night was hopefully it jump starts the offense.

Real cute,

So it's okay to complain to high heaven and call for heads ro roll after five games but you seem to a problem pointing a couple of things out AFTER THE WEEK of the season?

Very nice.....peachy! I'm just hoping the usual suspects get their ABs so more nice things will begin to happen.

Stop acting like sour pusses and a little more......Kumbaya! Lol

Well, I chose to give a post-first week wrap up.

You guys are funny, I know you picked the Yanks for mediocrity and are kinda not thrilled with hearing good things......but how about a little less sour puss, and a little more ....KUMBAYA!

After 6 games Yanks two games out first place.
Ceetainly not ideal, but not insurmountable after the first week.
But I have a feeling you already know this.

Baby steps......baby steps.

Stop with the bullshit, you're an opportunist & you do it all the time. EXAMPLE: Beltran is currently hitting 167 (4 for 24) over his first 6 games but if he has a 4-4 game tonight his average jumps to around 285. At which point you'd take the opportunity to boast "Why are you guys complaining? he's hitting 285"

Give it a rest.

Reality is the Yanks could have and should have won that series 2-1. They needed a single timely hit Friday night and couldn't get it, very frustrating. Let's hope last night woke some bats up and they can take some momentum with them. Pitching has been good and the defense has been oddly horrendous. Opening up the season with 3 series within the division is tough. I'm staying cautiously bullish on this team. Big Mike on the mound tonight!

You give it a rest......if the Yankees were 0-6 with 0 HRs and 12 total runs scored after the first 6 games I would be bashing them as well as any other.
My advice to you- stop trying to read my mind AND TAKE MY POSTS for WHAT THEY SAY, and not what you or any of your palsies try and inject.

You can stick a flower onto someone's asshole :mooning: but it still doesn't make it a vase. Like I said, you're an opportunist.

...no you wouldn't.

...lol, you keep acting as if there's some sort of conspiracy against you...instead, it's a case of multiple people disagreeing with you...you spew the same shit day after day and expect others to blindly jump on your rose colored pinstripe wagon...ain't gonna happen.

Two series at home to start the year and they lost both. That's the reality.

No you wouldn't you wait until they had the one big blowout game like last night padding there earlier pathetic 6 game stats & then scream about how "NOT TO BAD" they're doing.

And you act like a newbie baseball fan jumping to negative conclusions thinking you have some ownership on insights and specializing in saying "me too" afraid to voice an opinion which doesn't jibe with the general majority of this particular board.

I'm an "opportunist"?
Then why was I the only one here who said I believe the Yanks will win "APPROX" 90 games and took a good amount of heat because of it?

And then I see this petty bullish!t asking what does "APPROX" mean?
Someone had the nerve to say I said the Yankees would win 92 games.
He actually attached an exact number!

Cheap shots galore,

I also said, BEFORE the seaaon began, I think this team will score considerably more runs as compared to last year's debacle which would be very significant in competing for a playoff spot - if the "usual suspects" get their share of ABs.

So I then hear some more horsesh!t along the lines of:
"if I played the right numbers I would win the lottery".

Well, "ifs" and possibilities are always a part of ALL team's equations.
Will Hanley be a circus act in LF for Boston? Will HE and Pedroia stay healthy?
What "if" Reyes pulls up lame again for Toronto?....,and they have two 20 year olds closing games in the bullpen....and some of you were dumb enough to question a veteran Miller after his outstanding effectiveness the past couple of seasons?

Smarten up and show some respect......I'm watching this game long enough.

Before you hijack ANOTHER thread with your same old tired bullshit I'll play your game, see post #16 & lie tell me that that's not your style.

...can't stop laughing. Same old tired B-movie with subtitles routine.

You called me an "opportunist", and I responded in kind.

"Then why was I the only one here who said I believe the Yanks will win "APPROX" 90 games"?

Maybe I should join the majority and start wringing my hands and whinning after 5 games......or better yet, maybe I should've done so BEFORE the season began.
That was a popular thing to do....remember? Lmao. Uhhhh......lmao

And just to clear things up:
"approximately" ➡nearly exact; not perfectly accurate or exact.

Sorry I didn't use AN EXACT NUMBER....? now how about you?

Here you go again you're STILL doing it. You've now mentioned this same argument in over a dozen different threads. Turn the record over already.

And you still haven't responded to post #16..................................................HONESTLY!

Just admit it, you jumped all over me because I commented on the Yanks after the first week (as opposed to the first 5 games) and both of you got soundly thrashed.

I'm done here.....you can backtrack and try to do damage control?

Let's move on.....unless you still feel embarrassed or guilty. Lol

It comes down to the fact that the team is batting .233 right now with 51 collective K's... ARod & Young are batting .300 w/ 1 HR each in 6 and 5 games respectively, Petit & JR Murphy are batting .286 and neither with a HR in 5 & 3 games respectively, McCann is batting .278 w/ 1 HR in 4 games, and everyone else is batting less... I'd rather see a team batting .280 or better with only a few HRs than the likes of Headley & Tex batting .222 with 2 HR each in 6 and 5 games respectively... I'd rather see consistency than hope & pray on the long ball...

While 31 runs in 6 games is a nice 5.17 runs/game average, take out the unlikely to be the norm 14 runs yesterday and they are 3.4 runs/game.... Same with the ERA... 3.38 right now... but that is basically over 7 games, not 6... Their ERA is closer to 3.94... Tanaka has an ERA of 7, CC has an ERA of 6.35, Eovaldi has an ERA of 5.06, and Chris Martin in relief has an ERA of 4.91... so, lets be real... While I'm surprised and happy to see A-Rod doing well, he's really the only one.

...lol, rick and I "got soundly thrashed"?...I don't doubt that's how you really see things...and it pretty much confirms my suspicions...you've gone completely nuts.

You try to justify one game to excuse the previous 5 & you call that TRASHING. Reality check.

Now we'll move on. That is until such time as you bring this all up again.

responding to your post #16

Unlike you, I at least waited for the Yanks to finish their first two series and the SP to make it's first rotation.
Oh, I think I understand, if the Yanks had lost 10-0 to Boston last night you think I wouldn't have anything to say.....or, to put it another way, convincing victories should be discounted, after all, they skewer the stats.....except when it happens to the Yanks......correct?
Have I got it right?

Let's move on, shall we.....
.....and I hope the Yanks don't win 15-0 tonight, it might taint the team stats. Lol

HOLY SHIT! there is something between your ears. You FINALLY get it. Because the stats would have been worse than they already were & you would have had NOTHING to beat your chest about. The OPPORTUNITY (there's that word again) wouldn't have been there for you to play devils advocate based on one good game. Welcome to reality. Now stop pretending that you don't know what I'm talking about. Your "WHO ME?" approach to responding to posts is not only comical but its approaching childish.

...rick, like I've been saying, "it's like trying to communicate with a dolphin."
