McMillan said LaMarcus Aldridge set a team record with 21-seconds to spare, while Martell Webster was second, with 20 seconds to spare. McMillan said Sergio Rodriguez was also impressive, finishing with 17 seconds to spare.

Regarding Outlaw's failed test, neither McMillan nor Outlaw was concerned. At all.

"This test is basically there to get a gauge on where you are,'' McMillan said. "That test is for you (the player) to measure yourself; not for me to measure you. I'm going to gauge you by what you do in practice. That test, everybody should pass - and most did.''

In talking to the players, the test is not so much a test of conditioning as much as it is an exercise in mental toughness.

It's amazing considering LMA is 6'11" and nearly 250 lbs.

Regarding Outlaw, is it just me or does he look a lot bigger?

As for his conditioning, I don't like the fact that he knows this test is going to occur and he still has trouble passing it. I know he's afraid of pushing himself due to his asthma, but at some level that becomes an excuse.

Holy crap! When I said that Outlaw looked bigger, I wasn't referring to the size of the photo I posted. Damn, that one is almost life-size.

i think you should delete that post..i have seen a picture of his arms and he looked a lot stronger

That picture is way too big.

This would be an example of Outlaw scapegoating, wouldn't it... headlining that he "fails again" when the actual context of the article goes to lengths to downplay it.

Outlaw does look bigger though. Remember how thin he was when we drafted him. I was always afraid he would break something, especially since when we drafted him he was thought to be a pure, but raw and undersized power forward.

I can't wait until Portland sends Trout packing before he does anything stupid and brings down his value. I've got a bad feeling about him. Ok. I'm going to duck and cover now.

He almost looks unrecognizable. It's pretty incredible to see how some of our guys have changed over the summer.

As to what kind of "stupid" thing could Outlaw do to bring down his value?

I am an Outlaw supporter, and I don't disagree with you at this point.

Hmmmmmmmm, nope, won't say it.

does such a species really exist? Ever since he can into the league he's been working on his perimeter game. At 6'7.5 barefoot and built to bounce not bang, I'm sure he's been the most aware of the writing on the wall about where he projects best. All of 23 now, it makes sense that he's filling out some but he still projects best at the 3.

I will say this though.

I will be VERY surprised if Outlaw is a member of this team in '09-10. This is from an Outlaw supporter, and I do think his trade value is much higher than getting Kyle Lowry in return.

travis outlaw + raef for conley, marko, darko, not that memphis needs any more cap room.

but Portland needs conley, marko & darko??? The only position where I'm not comfortable with currently is SF, and you're for stretching that position even thinner for guys that project as backups at crowded positions and a bad contract (Jaric)?

Color me confused.
