He has the physical talent to be so much better, but he never will be because his brain is miswired.

Reminds me of Z-Bo, a slow learner, but damn he is good now. Memphis lost the game tonight because they stopped going to him. Exactly why we won't give up on LMA, he's got so much skill left to hone, albeit slower than you'd like.

Aldridge isn't the best player in the NBA. Trade his ass.

LMA learns a new trick each summer, but he's kept his old tricks too. That's a damn sight better than a lot of players in the NBA... he did start out pretty raw though.

For all of his talent and skill, what frustrayes me the most with Aldridge is when he doesnt use his length on defense.
So many times I see him just standing there watching a player grab the ball or putting up a shot.

I don't know if it's lack of effort, slow reaction time, bad court awarness or a mixture of these type of things.

I just want to see him put in effort on D, contest the ball and sky up for boards and blocks using his length.
If he did that, he'd be an all-star regular.

This might be the most insightful post I've seen summarizing Aldridge. I think I gave up on Randolph too early, yet was ready to get rid of the jail blazer moniker, but I was also initially in the keep him camp, drafting Durant and sliding Aldridge to Center (yes I initially thought that, then KP talked me into Oden, whatever, I wasn't in charge).

I keep wondering if the Lillard/Aldridge window will be too short to compete, yet look at the Bulls with a similarly built lineup (with multiple years of tweaks made). and think that maybe the Blazers are that close to competing at a high level. Who knows and I guess that's why I'll continue to watch the games.

Instead of responding in the original thread, you start a new one to call attention to yourself. Since half your posts are about Aldridge, and since you have voted to keep him so many times in the elimination thread, sometimes more than once per day in a transparent campaign, I must ask--do you have some connection to him?

You were also the main proponent of keeping McMillan. I'll have to check on Felton and Crawford.

Maybe you're just the sentimental type. But you just keep starting threads about it. Don't let me stop you.

Thanks, even the Portland media (Isaac Ropp yesterday) is short sidedly advocating trading Aldridge. LMA has always been slower to develop but still has a tremendous upside left to reach, ask any NBA GM and they would tell you the same. Totally agree with the Bulls comparison.

Yes, I'm a Blazer Maniac, and he's the sidekick to our PGOTF (dare I say Superstar?). They have the potential to be an incredible duo, and that's worth holding out for.

At about the same time he can set a halfway decent screen!

Of all the things that annoy me about LAs game that takes the cake. And ill say this im not opposed to trading LA if its an unbelievably good deal, meaning for a superstar
