Kind of hard to believe, right? Not Anthony Davis. Not Blake Griffin. Just Aldridge. I think many here take him for granted.

Let's see some averages/numbers to put this into context FAMS!

This brings large argument that AD and Aldridge are the best big men in the game. Maybe 1a and 1b?

Davis is much better defensively than Aldridge, but he does not command double teams on offense the way Aldridge does. They both help their teams in different ways, so comparing them directly is difficult.

Conspicuously absent from these lists is DeMarcus Cousins. Evidently, he hasn't played enough to qualify for the leader boards, but if he was eligible, he'd be 6th in scoring (23.5 ppg) and 12th in rebounding (9.5 rpg). So, I think you cn throw a healthy Cousins into the best big man discussion.

I agree! If I was to make a list of the best 5 big men, it would go like this: 1a.) Aldridge 1b.) AD, 3.) Cousins, 4.) Gasol and 5.) Griffin

Duncan is very close to Griffin, so that's a toss up.

Kevin Love is crying because his value was predicated on being a stat hog on a shitty team and now everyone knows it.

Exactly! He had zero supporting cast in Minny, so his numbers were inflated. That shit don't fly on a team with good players.

Even AD doesn't have much of a supporting cast in NOLA.

This is why I really respect Aldridge. Dame is doing so well, and Matthews is arguably a top 5 SG. So for Aldridge to get those numbers on a winning team with solid players says a lot.

It is amazing to see Jimmy F'in Butler score more points per game then Dame.

I think Dame's numbers will increase as the season progresses. He had a slow start. He should be close to Klay or even Steph's numbers by Feb

I see you've moved DAVIS from 2 to 1b. Good man, good morning. How's that coffee smelling? Take a sip!

Davis could be 1a. It really doesn't matter as much to me. I think Aldridge is a better scorer and Davis is a better defender. They both are equally good at rebounding. It's really a matter of preference, but those two are way ahead of everyone else

it was hysterical the reactions by a few people on here when dame started out this year. it's like, dude, this is dame... he's gonna be just fine. but, still, the irrational hysteria was so funny.

Yeah even I was a little worried. Glad Dame is a true pro to prove us all wrong!

Put it into context though, Butler gets the lesser defender in his games, gets a bunch of bail-out FTs for some reason, basically gets open looks whenever Rose drives the lane, oh and he plays like 5 more minutes than Dame.

Which Gasol?

This. Also- Aldridge's defense is underrated. AD gets blocks and steals but the Pelicans aren't stopping other teams, right?

I think Aldridge's defense and rebounding in the 4th is absolutely stellar!

Also, he's leading the entire NBA with second chance points

I hope this is true when Robin returns (I also hope that the team is still among the top 4 in the Western Conference when he returns too. Probably wishful thinking I admit).
