I hate the fan vote for starters in this game. I know some marketing department somewhere determined that fan involvement helps sell the game, but I hate the results.....EACH YEAR!! (*Yes, that is shouting!)

Who would you put out there if you could only pick 5 from each Conference?

West:
Westbrook
Curry
Durant
KLeonard
Cousins

East:
Lowry
Butler
PGeorge
Lebron
Milsap

Arguments?

It's sad that big men have gotten completely shafted by the way that the spots are delegated.

Right now it's three guards and two small forwards.

The roster positions were changed from the standard G - G - F - F - C to B - B - F - F - F (Backcourt for B and Frontcourt for F) a couple years ago in the voting for the all star game.

But I don't see 3 guards and two small forwards this year so not sure what you mean.

These are the starters.

B Steph Curry (PG)
B Russell Westbrook (PG)
F Kobe Bryant (SF)
F Kevin Durant (SF)
F Kawhi Leonard (SF)

B Kyle Lowry (PG)
B Dwayne Wade (SG)
F LeBron James (SF)
F Paul George (SF really but does play a lot of PF)
F Carmelo Anthony (SF)

So really it is 2 PGs (in the west) and 3 SFs (in both east and west). Not 3 guards and two small forwards though.....

This would be my list..although I voted less this season than ever...just not really invested in the allstar game this season..I voted for Dame in the west and gave a few votes to Batum and Barton..first year in 9 years I haven't voted for Lamarcus or 5 years in the case of Wes

Not a single furriner mentioned. Whatever happened to the globalization of the game? I thought the rest of the world "caught up to" America.

Kobe has been a shooting guard for 99% of his career.

Sure but he is most definitely not now though. He would be even worse at that position this year. He has grown into being a SF (body-type-wise - not to mention lack of speed-wise).

Kobe isn't anything now. I should have said two guards and two small forwards, with one empty jersey. It's a fucking joke that he's on the team at all.

Kobe has been a SG his entire career and this year is listed at the SF but really it's a 3-guard lineup in LA. So it really is 3 G's and 2 SF's.

I maintain that he has no position because he serves no purpose. He is the team "anchor," and not the good kind.

Until this year he has been a SG. That is correct. He is no longer one though. Kobe is listed at SF this year and really playing SF. He is no longer a guy who can play SG (not that he can really play SF either but lesser of two evils).

I don't care what position he plays though. He needs to give up his spot on the team.

He won't.

I know he won't. Although injuries might make him. But he probably would still take the spot and then just not play in the game. That sounds like him.
Hey, nobody injures old Lakers like Dame does. Considering he's on the bubble for an all star spot, he's got extra motivation to take Kobe out tonight.

What time zone are you writing from where Dame takes out Kobe tonight? Is it Saturday already somewhere?

Once Friday afternoon rolls around, it's already Saturday in my mind. Yeah, that's the ticket...

I will probably boycott the whole weekend. No Blazers repping combine with an atrocious system within the selection process leaves me with no interest whatsoever to see a bunch of over hyped 3 hour show with 2.5 hours of shit commercials from NBA sponsors....

But Kobe was a guard his whole career.
