Mr. Behan showed up at the rectory to keep his appointment with Father McKenna end resulting in the following conversation.

Father McKenna: "Well Behan, what may I do for you this fine day."

Behan: " Well Father, as you know me prize Irish Wolf Hound recently passed. I was quite fond of the animal and wish to have him buried on Church Grounds."

Father McKenna: " ah Behan, I'm sorry for your loss, but dogs have no souls, there is no after life for them, and the Church Grounds are sacred property, we simply cannot have a dog buried there.

Behan: "well Father, perhaps you didn't know that I've considered a small donation to the church say about 5 tp 10 thousand dollars.

Father McKenna: "Well Behan, why didn't you tell me the animal was a Catholic!"

...^^^ lol...and I have no doubt that's exactly how it would play out in the real world.

That story is best done by one who is pretty good with an Irish accent. When I first heard it I laughed myself silly. And yes that situation would probably would apply to many religions. I can do a pretty good brogue myself so I've told it many times over the years.

:biglaugh::roflmao::clap:

being raised Catholic as a kid, Yep, I'd say this is spot on, for then and today's world, .... :devilwink: lmao.... Good one YF-55.... :nun: :twothumbs: :blessed:

There is a cheaper solution. You have the dog cremated, and then when you pass you make a donation to the fur real parlor to slip the box of ashes into the coffin.

This is what we did with my dad and his golden retriever Babe.
