Really? For adding one all star, who wanted to go home to mama, to an already contending team? Did he do something else I'm not aware of, like for instance, replacing four starters and two key backups, on a budget, while preserving cap space for future acquisitions, and having said team earn the fifth seed? :dunno:

Not saying I agree but West & resigning Green were also there for him.

According to Woj, Buford voted for Olshey. Probably not allowed to vote for himself, though.

Neil got more 1st place votes. Buford got 21 total votes and Neil only got 17. That's surprising. I don't know how you can leave Neil off the ballot completely but whatever.

Pretty much the same thing I was saying about the COTY voting. More votes should not outweigh more 1st place votes. 1st-2nd-3rd voting is inherently flawed when the purpose is to vote for one best performer.

This is complete bullshit. Pop recruited LMa. NOt their GM. Fucking BS....

Another reason the team is gonna STOMP GS tonight. We just cant get ANY respect...

Let's step back for a second here.

Our GM got 2nd place in EOY, and is very respected among peers and agents.
Our coach got 2nd place in COY, is also very respected among players, and has a great player development staff.
Our 2nd best player got MIP.
Our star will probably land on an All-NBA team, and is one of the leading endorsers in the NBA despite being in a "small" market.
Our team is surpassing every projection, and is overachieving beyond anyone's imagination.

We have a massive yacht filled with cash, just to give away. Is this going to be the first time top tier FAs consider POR as a destination?

It's going to be very interesting to see if we're even mentioned among the teams after Durant.

Man...... Paul needs to lock Neil up for the rest of his life. Lifetime contract please.

You stepped so far back, you lost sight of where Portland is on the map. :)

Meh. Another individual award with undefinable standards and no tangible benefit to the team. Not worth getting upset over.

"I thought it was incorrect," Lillard said of the award. "With the turnaround we had on our team, the roster he put together and how low the guys on this team’s salary is, what he made of our team… He did a great job. This summer a lot of people were wondering what he was doing, the route that he went and all that; he brought in high-character guys, he brought in young players with talent that just needed opportunity, needed to work. He understood that. He saw what guys could bring to the table and what this team could be down the line. We kinda pushed the envelope on it this season: our coach has done a great job and things have kinda worked out earlier than they were planned to.

"He did a great job; I don’t understand how he wouldn’t be Executive of the Year."
