How with a struggling offense, with Ryan and Drew hitting their combined weight divided by 2, does this guy not get called up. It's these arrogant "we are smarter than everyone else" moves that makes me hate the front office. If anyone says money and starting his clock, bullshit, If we had Trout in the minors we would have said we don't want to rush him.

From start to finish, the best and most consistent player in the system this year was Refsnyder. The 23-year-old opened the year with Double-A Trenton, hit .342/.385/.548 (159 wRC+) with 19 doubles and six homers in 60 games, then was promoted up to Triple-A Scranton. Refsnyder hit .296/.386/.453 (135 wRC+) with 19 doubles and eight homers in 77 games with the RailRiders, giving him an overall .317/.385/.495 (~145 wRC+) batting line. The team’s fifth round pick in the 2012 draft led the farm system in batting average (min. 400 PA), doubles (38), and total bases (255) while placing second in hits (163). He also cut his error total from 25 in 108 games last season to 12 in 122 games this season. Refsnyder put himself on the map a year ago and this year he proved he was no fluke. He’s played his way into big league consideration just two years after being drafted and asked to change positions

...but I get your point...Refsnyder is a keeper. I'm still amazed by the haters who keep telling us how bad the farm is. It's not the best, but it's by no means the worst either.

I agree.....The Yanx farm clubs aren't near as bad, as some would like us to believe. You said it well 59, not the best, and certainly not the worst....do you hear an echo in this room, I do believe I just repeated what you said Ron....

This kid would've already been up with 50 or so ABs under his belt with most other teams. He may be just what the Yankee franchise is going to need in the very near future- a fresh young face who can play.
I think they should've given Sanchez a call as well.
Just having him in the dugout experiencing a September "race" will never hurt him and will help. Derek Jeter said his September call-up was good for him as he saw how the major leaguers operated and conducted themselves in big games.


By the way, there's another (not so young ANYMORE) player the Yanks have had down on the farms: Ronnier Mustelier

He's been a DH (obvously), and played RF and "O.F.", been in the system since 2011 (26yrs old) out of Cuba.
Career .300 at every level and 2014 at Scranton he hit .314 with 51 ABs and his career AAA numbers are .308 .362 .450 - 1034 ABs.

Now 30 years old the door may be closing on this guy. I can't understand how and why the Yanks could never find a spot for him - this guy is a "hitter".
Wheeler got a call to play 3b/RF... now with Headly and Prado here, I see no reason why the Yanks couldn't find some ABs (RF/DH) for Mustelier.
