I was saying this to my kids during the game. An extremely talented recruiting class on top of this. I kept telling them all year that this was basically a rebuilding year, or retooling

Very true. But DAT probably will leave as soon as he can.

Two more years, then, since he wasn't redshirted and didn't take a year off to go to a prep school after high school (like Larry Fitz did).

Next year's conference schedule is tough, but the team SHOULD be better, even if James doesn't return.

Just a clinic of offense, and the defense did what they had to do to win the game.

Next year could be another epic season, but winning THE FUCKING ROSE BOWL FEELS FANTASTIC RIGHT NOW!!!!!

I don't know 5-10 170 pound RB/WR don't really go that high in the draft. I remember a lot of USC fans thought that his best road to the pros was CB.

DAT is DeSean Jackson with a bigger frame and bigger legs. Probably faster as well, and can play more positions.

That 91 yard TD run was simply the greatest play in Duck history, IMO, or at least tied with Kenny Wheaton's Pick 6.

Desean Jackson ran a 10.4 100m in high school while Thomas ran a 10.57. So not quite as fast as Jackson concerning top speed but Thomas' acceleration is off the charts. He gets to top speed in a flash.

DAT is more similar to Percy Harvin than Jackson IMO.

Probably more like Percy Harvin than Jackson.

DAT is a better 200m runner, though, and wasn't coached track at Crenshaw like Jackson was at his fancy private school LB Poly.

Where did you find Jackson's 200m time? I'm having trouble locating it. I'd love to know.

Jackson didn't run the 200m.

Anyhow, Harvin never had DAT's second gear in college out of the backfield. We're seeing a once in a generation talent.

Then how do you know he's a better 200m runner? Just personal opinion?

What's your glitch? DAT ran a 20.61 200m his senior year of HS, which led the nation. Desean Jackson didn't run the event. I assume there is a reason for that, no? Unless you're going to say Jackson could run faster than a 20.61, but just didn't try?

No glitch, you said he was probably faster than Jackson, and I said he's close but not quite as fast. What's your glitch?

I brought stats on the 200m. You brought ... what, exactly? I suppose I can say that I don't know if Jackson is faster at the 200m than DAT, but that seems like a silly opinion given DAT's time in the event, versus Jackson not running it in HS.

Given that Jackson is faster in the 100m it's logical to think he's faster in the 200m as well. Assuming DAT is faster simply because Jackson didn't run the 200m is silly in itself is it not?

No. Not at all. You need to brush up on logic. That's just embarrassingly bad.

For example, George Farmer is faster than DAT in the 100m, yet DAT was faster in the 200m when they went head-to-head in HS.

DAT has awesome vision. Straight up game changer. He's got a great understanding of the game and picked up the O system quickly. Kelly is going to have fun in the off-season designing new plays to focus on his strengths.

I think Colt Lyerla is going to have a breakout season. I believe he'll be a starter in the NFL some day if he stays on track.

I don't know about that. Right now he'd probably be a return specialist in the NFL. I'm sure he wants to stay an try to elevate his stock a bit. I don't know if I've ever seen an NFL RB, even a 3rd down back, with such a slight build. It works in college ball, not so sure about NFL.

Why should DAT gain weight? He's already doing an awesome job at his current weight. Why slow him down? It doesn't work to their advantage to make him a better NFL prospect.....but I guess it might help with recruting...

LaMichael gained 10 pounds since last season and 15 since HS. His total yards gained improved each season including this one where he missed 2 full games to injury. The extra weight didn't seem to slow him down any.

As long as he does it right with training and nutrition, DAT can put on 20 good pounds and still be as blazing fast. The extra weight could also help him deal with the collisions.

Muscle doesn't necessarily make a guy slower. You just need to look at some world-class sprinters to see that.

DAT has a much bigger lower body than people give him credit for having. He needs to put on some size in his torso, but he he's already bigger than DeSean Jackson, at least in the lower body.

After Sproles' record-breaking season this year, I wouldn't be surprised if teams are looking for more players in that mold. 2,183 APY as a true freshman playing behind a heisman candidate? DAT has the potential to be better than Sproles.
