Andre Miller Appreciation Thread

This guy tries to bring it every game. He's relentless, and never gives up. Yes, he makes some bad decisions here and there but as a whole he tries to bring his "A game" every night. I am so happy that we signed him. A Warrior that doesn't quit.

Its too bad his Dunk against denver didn't get his teammates get excited but I think this is what he was trying to prove.

that dunk last night by Miller was sick.....

Seriously, who knew he had that in him?

That was a great dunk! Brought a smile to my face then and again while I just watched it!

That was a crazy dunk. I thought it was Roy at first and the announcer just got the name wrong.

He was clearly trying to get the team going (and avoid getting blocked from behind). Kind of cool that it was on ESPN for all to see.

Clearly Miller has been sand bagging! That was dunk of the night material! Even the Denver crowd went wild.

Joking around last week I asked him when was the last time he had dunked in a game. He said 2 seasons ago in philly!

If I had a sign it would read. "Dunkith Miller - I want another one!"

Mike and Mike just pointed out on the Blazers vs Kings game that Miller does very well using the pump fake drawing fouls on opponents. They mentioned that its a lost art and not many NBA players use it any more.

Devin Harris does, or at least he does it to us. I've lost count of how many times I've yelled at Blazers guards (on TV) to not go for his fake. Drives me nucking futs!

Just look at the Sixers. Basically the same team as last year, except they got Elton Brand back (30 mpg, 14 ppg, 9 rebs) and lost Andre Miller.

Last year that team was .500 and in the playoffs. This year they are .353.

Nice find! I love this quote:
It now appears as if Miller approached the game in his 20s as if he was preparing himself to play deep into his 30s. "The goal for me was always to play 15 years," he said. "That was the goal from the start. You have to set some type of goal as far as what level you want to play at. If I would have come out of college as a freshman or sophomore, the goal would probably be 20. But four years from now, I'll be nearly 38 years old."
He stopped to count. Was the math right?
"Yeah, 38," he said. "So that will be 15 years right there. It will depend on how my body is holding up. But if I can play four more years, that will have been a good career for me.

I really think he can do it. I'd have no problem with him starting for another year or two and then moving to a backup role.

The comparison of his ground-based game to Stockton and Malone seemed spot-on too.

yeah, his style of play seems pretty conducive to playing well after his 'athleticism' (whatever he had/has) declines. I'm not sure that means I want him as the starting point guard on this team in 3 more years, but if he can still be productive in 20 minutes a night when his current contract is up, and the Blazers presumably have an heir apparent to take up the starting job, I'd love to have him on this team for as long as he wants to stay here and can be productive.

I just looked it up, and the year John Stockton fucking RETIRED at the age of 40 he had a PER of 21. (Andre Miller, by comparison, has only had a PER once that high ever.)

I was always a huge fan of him, and in the year he retired I couldn't understand why he did it. That guy could've played at the NBA level until he was 45.

Andre Miller had awesome numbers against the Thunder.
26 points, a 3 pointer, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. I am so happy that we have him instead of Blake.

Miller has been great lately. It looks like he's having more fun out there on the court, he's smilling much more than he was at the start of the season.
Miller >>>>>>>> Hedo.

Although I was excited about Miller when we signed him I didnt expect this level of play. And when he said that he gets better as the season goes on I thought that was an excuse for his early season struggles but he was right. I can see now why Philly has struggled so much this season. Either money is a huge issue with them (ie. more important than winning) or they vastly underestimated his importance.

And on a side note I never believed that Miller and Roy "couldnt" play with well with and off of each other. Miller has too much BBIQ for it not to work. Im glad that they were both able to adapt.
