Miller is a Baller. PERIOD.
 
Like most players he needed a bigger role to produce. It will be interesting to see how things go when everyone one gets healthy.

agreed... which is why someone who can produce in a lessor role holds value over similar level players who can't

I love the guy and I think he needs a longer leash. I really think he can take us far in the playoffs. If he is in the game, I feel almost as safe\comfortable as I do with Roy in the game.
 
i think hes been great and unless kp makes a deal at some point for a younger pg or bayless emerges.... I think hes our guy for the 2 years. infact i think we use the option to keep him.

remember too.... miller turns on his play once January starts... hes a second half player. this was too be expected according to most. Also quick said on the pod cast yesterday that A source inside the Blazers said there's no chance they trade miller at this point.

Me too Bro. And I also think if he will re-sign with us for cheap, we should take it. I wouldn't mind if he retired here. He has a lot to teach Bayless (eFF Blake) and hell, he can even teach Roy some stuff. I really like Miller.

I have already seen both of them do Millers little ball fake, get the defender to jump and run into him thing. I love that~!!!
 
I've always liked Miller's game and I think he's proving he can fit alongside the team's best player (no, not Blake, their other best player).

I haven't been disappointed in him at all, just the role McMillan placed him in for a while. I still think he's a very good point guard and makes the team significantly better.

Pretty much my thoughts about Miller exactly. He's definitely lost a step defensively, but he's just so damn smart with his help D, and the way he can draw opposing players into a charge. For a 2-3 year period I can see him continue to be very effective if only because his game has never been predicated on blazing speed and he hasn't been able to jump for about 5 or 6 years anyway. And like I felt when they initially signed him, I think he has a lot to teach these younger Blazers -- and maybe even Nate too.
 
I never expected him to be the scorer that he is. I guess I haven't watched him enough over the years. I thought he would be more of a distributor, but I'm very happy with his production. He was a great pickup in an otherwise disappointing offseason.

His game has definitely changed over the years; his last two years in Philly he was really pushed into being more of a scorer and less a distributor, and now with so many guys out here you're seeing those instincts to take over kick in a little bit, I think -- and thank God, we'd be straight bent over and buggered without him this past month.
 
After going for 28 PTS, 8 REB and 8 AST tonight, he's now averaging 20.4 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 6.9 APG for the month of January. Not bad for a guy who doesn't fit in.

As long as it's a quality big. What's the saying about never trading big for small. If small, unathletic, old Andre Miller can fetch a decent big in return that certainly says something about his value as a player. At least we won't have to PAY somebody to take him off our hands like the last PG we traded.

I have to admit, I wasn't too happy with him for a while there but he's really turned it up. Who woulda thought that more playing time would be a good thing?

I say, I wouldn't cry over a Steve Blake for Brendan Haywood trade.
 
Anyone else notice that LMA is playing better without Brandon around? Or am I just seeing things?

I don't know that Blake has that much value.

Earlier in here people were talking about how one-dimensional Sergio is. The same really applies to Blake. He's a fantastic three point shooter (when he's on), but he otherwise doesn't give you anything at all. He's basically a slower, bigger version of Eddy House or Boobie Gibson. How much value do either of those guys really have? I'd trade Pendergraph and Cunningham for them, or Outlaw's expiring deal, but I wouldn't trade anything of real value.

It's so fucking stupid how long Nate thought it was important to start Blake over Miller. What a fucking joke that was.
 
Maybe Dre can't play next to Roy, but he sure as HELL can play without him.

I second how dumb it was not giving Dre a decent chance to show who should start long before it finally happened.

Its ludacris this guy was not the starter playing 34+ min per game from preaseason game #1
 
I really like what he has done with this team. I hope he doesn't get traded. He has more aggressiveness to drive towards the basket which Blake is so reluctant to do so.

Part of that strikes me as being psychological; LMA is sort of hard wired to defer, especially with Brandon in the game, without him around I think he feels more 'responsibility' to try and take over (to whatever extent he can).

The other part? For all of Brandon's strengths, he's just not a point guard and really struggles to create easy shots for his bigs unless it's a dump pass into the post and Greg or LMA then iso from the block, and I've yet to see him ever run a pick and roll where he passes to the rolling big.

I would say you are right on both counts.
 
At this point I would be very disappointed if we traded Miller now. Nice to finally have a true poing guard. By the way this might be the best play from a PG I've seen on the Blazers since Rod Strickland.
