Andy Murray, mired in a lengthy slump, has split with part-time coaching consultant Alex Corretja.
The fifth-ranked Murray has worked with Corretja since 2008 in a bid to improve his clay-court game, but the pair have mutually agreed to end their relationship. The Scottish player is heading into the clay-court season after getting knocked out in opening matches at Rotterdam, Indian Wells and Miami.
"I have learned so much from being around [Corretja] and I want to thank him for his hard work, enthusiasm, dedication and support," Murray said on his website. "He has been a great friend as well as a mentor to me and we've shared lots of success and good times on and off the court."
