If you stayed out of the Vietnam war that just meant that some other poor slob had to take your place. We had a lot of guys who didn't want to go to war but didn't want to go to prison either.
My only regret was that I should have asked the Army if I got injured would they take care of me? Of course, the answer would have been a lie.
