1,000 games with multi hits, at least 2 hits per game....

What's the next milestone ya' think....?

BTW- I am thrilled as seems the majority of MLB Fan-atics, to see Our Captain as the starting All Star-SS. Kudos,!!! I hope he hits a HR or game winning RBI or the winning Run. Shades of Cal Ripken's last A.S Game, may he win the A.S. MVP like our prodigal King - King Mo' the Broken Bat, Cutting, Flame Thrower....!

I still have yet to see a gift by a road team equal to MO's broken bat rocking chair, tho' I've not seen all the gifts either, I'd think I would of heard as much, had Derek of rec'd as memorable a parting gift.

BTW- I heard Dmitri Young on Sports Radio speak of Jeter, how gracious, and 2nd to none in his approach to the game, say..."I seriously believe Derek will be the 1st ever player voted in the HOF on the 1st ballot with 100% of the votes". I'd like to see as much, but with alot of these HOF voters, they'd rather vote for Joaquin Benoit than DJ...can't seem to get the pack of voters in the same mindset called logical rational reason.....some don't deserve votes.....!!!:tsktsk:

The voting system for the HOF needs to be fixed, but I have no clue how to do it? Maybe a combination of writers, peers, and fans? Too many writers have their axes to grind...

...I think the current system is fine...besides, you know how it is...no matter what system is in place, there will still be people to criticize it.

...kinda like the BCS...people clamored for it, and when they finally got it, the decided it wasn't enough and switched to a "playoff" system...and I'm sure there will be those who will find fault with it as well and will say there should be even more teams included in the playoffs...then we'll be having the Championship game held in March.

I don't think ANYONE will ever get 100% because like you said you'll ALWAYS have that one idiot who will vote for someone that in most opinions doesn't even deserve to be on the ballot. I think Seaver came the closest with just over 98%.

First Ballot Hall of Famer

A First Ballot Hall of Famer is a player who is elected to the Hall of Fame on their first appearance on the ballot. The term has become known as a way to symbolize certain Hall of Famers and active players as above the rest. As for voting patterns, the movement for first ballot Hall of Famers did not really begin until the late 1980s. From 1989 - 1995 there was at least one first ballot Hall of Famer every year. Many of the highest voting percentages have come to first ballot players.

Just as noticeable are the players who are not on the list. Joe DiMaggio, Jimmie Foxx, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Cy Young, Tris Speaker, Nap Lajoie, Mel Ott, Eddie Mathews, Roy Campanella and Harmon Killebrew all had to wait until at least their second ballot to be elected.

And look who stole some of Seaver's votes,http://www.baseball-reference.com/awards/hof_1992.shtml

I got a rule...anyone that doesnt vote for Jeter on the first ballot, loses their vote. Any guy getting 98%+ of the vote, the dissenting 2% need to be culled. In ten years you'll refresh up to a fifth of the voters and the rest will take their job more seriously.

I would like to think he would be 100%, but I seriously doubt it...

All the players on this list with less than 90% - 95% just does not make sense. WTF- does MLB need to do, in fixing this voting prob.....I don't get it, with the guys on this list, as well as "other HOF'ers with even less voter pctg's., noted herein.

Hammer, ya' did some serious home work, which I appreciate, and archived your data- ..... man if you work like this at the job, then you deserve a raise....with your diligent work on the Yanx Numbers, and this post, The door prize achiever gets: 2 dozen A-Roid BB cards....!
'
Thanks for all of your input......The BCS  proof the NCAA doesn't have a clue what they're doing, and probably never will.

ROLL TIDE.....ROLL.....(did I say that, I meant Bite Dawgs)

In SEC Football Country a word of caution to all Yankees: Do NOT debate politics, religion or SEC Football (if your not in your home and/or element-turf)

I do work like this at work and haven't got a promotion yet and haven't really received a raise worth bragging about... my former boss (just got a new one 2 months ago told me to my face multiple times that he flat out didn't like me and made it painfully obvious that he favors the one next to me who sleeps ALL the time...

And I have NO problem discussing both religion and politics, especially if it's how asinine obama and his cronies are...

If you don't mind Steve, where do you work, or what is your career field?

I wish I hadn't retired young, (yet had no choice due to a disabling accident). Hard workers are hard to find, and it all begins with one's mindset. I'd of hired you sight unseen, from what I have known about your ethics....

I agree in Obuma- Politics Shrek without the numbers to deserve even a nod....But then with Shrek's numbers, I refuse to do anything more than throw beer bottles at him, or whatever I can get my hands on....Obuma makes Jimmy Carter look like a Saint, and I despised Jimmy too...!

When I was at the Doctor's yesterday, I noticed the Header of Kim's Appt sheet, said "Hispanic Physician Network", the odd thing is the Dr. was from India.....

Yet, one would never see "Caucasian Physc. Network", hell I'd settle for "Whitey Physc. Network", moreso, I'd rather not see bigoted B.S. things like this at all. It has NO bearing or place in today's society, like Hell, if I'm of Mexican Descent, does this mean, I'm only going to a Hispanic Dr.?

Moreso why the f'k, does an Indian Dr. have a header like this B.S.????

Yet, one would never see "Caucasian Physc. Network", hell I'd settle for "Whitey Physc. Network", moreso, I'd rather not see bigoted B.S. things like this at all. It has NO bearing or place in today's society, like Hell, if I'm of Mexican Descent, does this mean, I'm only going to a Hispanic Dr.?

Moreso why the f'k, does an Indian Dr. have a header like this B.S.????

Hell I'm still waiting for "United Caucasian college fund".

Next milestone stop of Jeter, which HE WILL reach this year, is breaking Yaz's hit record at 3419, Honus Wagner's Hit Record at 3420, and Cap Anson at 3435. Placing Jeter 6th on the All Time Hit Record.

I doubt Derek will catch up to Tris Speaker, 5th all time, with 3514 Hits....

If Jeter's not cleared on the 1st ballot, MLB needs to blow up all HOF voters....!
